Inside The $750,000 Hill HX50

Inside The $750,000 Hill HX50 Private Helicopter
This is the Hill HX50, the world's first fully private helicopter. Set up by Dr. Jason Hill, an engineer and keen helicopter pilot, the company was established with the lofty goal of building ‘the world’s first truly ground-up helicopter since the invention of rotorcraft flight.’ The company's first proposed model is the HX50, an undeniably good-looking machine that offers both outstanding luxury and incredible performance.
Unlike helicopters designed for fleet operators, the HX50 is specifically crafted for private owners seeking a personalized flying experience.
The HX50 combines customization with impressive performance: it features a three-blade rotor system and a powerful in-house GT50 turboshaft engine, delivering 400 horsepower, a cruise speed of 140 knots, and a range of up to 700 nautical miles.
The base purchase price for a new Hill HX50 is £595,000, or about $750,000 before options.
But can this machine really sell for only $750,000? Here is everything you need to know about the Hill HX50.

IRL if this ever comes into production, certification for helicopters is a nightmare ... it will cost between 3x to 5x this price. 3 to 5 million dollars. a fadec turbine heli, with hover ap, all glass panel ... it has Agusta 109 / Airbus H125 specs, range, size... and it also has to pay for the turbine and avionics R&D. There is a reason most manufacturers don't do this.

Unfortunately they still don't have a running engine to put into the helicopter. They are still trying to figure out n test various fuel burns to reach their promised specs. N with over 900 promises to people that have already prepaid for an hx50 they haven't even had a test flight. They are a long way off from reaching their 2025 delivery to the 900 that already bought one

Unfortunately you're wrong, everything is on schedule. Those that ordered early did so with the knowledge that there may be delays but it's coming together and the buyers are are all happy and are fully behind Dr. Hill and his team. The company is full transparent and buyers are fully informed about everything, including engine dev

@@Ronnie_B I am well aware of the transparency. Where do you think the info came from? Their KZread account. N at the time that I made that comment everything was completely accurate. They have graciously given a further update since then. But they still don't have a running engine yet. N even if you ordered one today, you won't see an hx-50 in your garage for at least 3 years. Which is fine cuz by then they'll have figured out all the unforseen issues that may come up with repeated flights of production models. I'm just as hyped as everyone else to see the first prototype spin it's rotors for the first time
