Inside The $30 Million Bombardier Challenger 350

Inside The $30 Million Bombardier Challenger 350 Private Jet
0:00 - Intro
This is the Bombardier Challenger 350, an aircraft that has quickly become one of the most popular selling business jets among corporate flight departments and charter operators seeking a mid-size cabin and coast-to-coast range. Today we’re going inside the Bombardier Challenger 350 to talk about everything you need to know about this magnificent aircraft.
0:54 - Cabin
Inside, the Challenger 350 offers a number of custom configurations and flexible seating arrangements, with the ability to comfortably seat up to 10 passengers. The interior of the cabin has a height of 6 feet or 1.83 meters, and a width of 7 feet 2 inches or 2.18 meters.
Upon entering the aircraft, you will pass through a well-equipped galley, which is typically lined with a dark wood veneer and polished stone countertops.
According to Bombardier, the 350 is up to 4-5 deciBels quieter than the previous 300 series. The cabin seating does offer comfortable individual seating by way of the Challenger 350’s eight executive-style seats, with 180-degree swivel, tracking, recline, and berthing capability, that makes up the double-club configuration.
With any configuration, the main cabin side ledges feature smaller compartments for additional storage and concealed tables stowed, but easily extendable at each executive seating arrangement.
In the rear of the aircraft, passengers will find a lavatory with a large backlit mirror and vanity, sink, and faucet, as well as a 106 cubic ft baggage compartment, which is accessible from the main cabin at any point while in-flight, if desired.
The Challenger 350 does feature modern cabin management and in-flight entertainment systems, including standard 22-inch high-definition forward and aft bulkhead monitors and plug-and-play entertainment with universal HDMI and USB ports.
With a 5G ATG option internet available domestically, passengers can stay connected while on the go. The cabin management system features a wireless cabin environment and entertainment controls.
3:59 - Cockpit
The flight deck is logically laid out, and features the latest implementation of the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics suite, the “Pro Line 21 Advanced”, with four large displays in portrait orientation. Unlike its competitors, the Challenger 350 does not offer a head-up display as an option, but like most modern jets, it displays the HUD-like flight path vector on the PFD.
In addition, the SVS includes the Rockwell Collins airport dome that highlights the destination airport and an extended runway centerline. Dual Rockwell Collins FMSs with SBAS/WAAS GPS, LPV, and RNP approach capability are mounted in the center console. Radar is Rockwell Collins’s digital MultiScan system with ground-clutter suppression and auto-tilt and -gain. Dual inertial reference systems are also installed.
While the Challenger 350’s fuselage is wide, the center console extends outward at the front to accommodate the FMSs, and this ends up taking up some potential legroom. What does end up taking space on the console, between the FMSs. The upper console also hosts switches for the anti-ice and air-conditioning/bleed air systems.
6:53 - Engine and Performance
Talking about performance, the Challenger 350 is powered by two Honeywell HTF7350 turbofan engines, each producing 7,323 lbs of thrust. This combination is able to push the aircraft to a maximum speed of Mach 0.83, a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.82, and up to a maximum cruising altitude of 45,000 feet or 13,716 meters, with an average hourly fuel burn of 300 gallons or 1,135 liters.
The aircraft can carry a full payload of 3,400 lbs or 1,542 kg and still fly a maximum-range trip of 3,200 nautical miles or 5,926 kilometers at its long-range cruise speed of Mach 0.80, considering eight passengers and two crew. The 350’s takeoff distance at maximum takeoff weight on a standard day at sea level is 4,835 feet or 1,474 meters, the maximum rate of climb per minute is 5,000 feet or 1,524 meters, and the landing distance is 2,364 feet or 721 meters. An unrestricted climb to the maximum altitude of FL450 should take 16 minutes from sea level.
8:46 - Purchase and Charter Price
The base purchase price for a new Challenger 350 is $26 million before options, and the charter price ranges between $4,000 and $6,000 per hour. Naturally, prices will vary depending on availability, fuel prices, ground fees, and more.
9:04 - Operating Cost
While the annual fixed cost is roughly $500,000 to $600,000, the average hourly operating cost is estimated at $2,300 to $2,900.

Beautiful elegant roomy comfy plane. The 350 is also available with HUD and EVS since 2019, which is rare with super midsize jets.

Rather than for the calling to Aerospace Avionics the rest of that Canadian built Challenger jet Honeywell turbo fan engines the waters are all controlled by cables that's a little obsolete don't most aircraft use fly by wire systems now and I only live an hour away from where this Bombardier Challenger aircraft is built built in Toronto Ontario pretty shameful for a Canadian company this is part of the reason why Bombardier was about to go Belly Up that in the fact Bombardier thought they could compete with Bowen on Commercial aircraft the c-series jetliner that's owned by Airbus now I'm Canadian and I probably wouldn't buy Canadian built products
