Inside STIRLING CASTLE walking tour | Scotland walking tour | 4k

Join us for a stroll through Scottish history, inside the incredible walls of Stirling Castle!
Stirling Castle is located centrally where the lowlands and highlands meet, perched on a vast volcanic rock above the river, this made it the key to the kingdom of Scotland.
The earliest record of the castle dates from the 1100s, though most of what is seen today was built from the 1500s. The castle withstood 8 sieges during the Wars of Independence. At the first battle, in 1297, William Wallace led the Scots to victory at the Battle of Stirling Bridge. After only a few years, it was returned to English Hands before being reclaimed in 1314 by Robert the Bruce at the Battle of Bannockburn.
Over the centuries, Stirling Castle developed into a grand royal residence for important Scottish monarchs such as Mary Queen of Scots, James IV & James I. It was also where the government would meet.
Stirling Castle is a must see attraction on a visit to Scotland.Be sure to also check out the nearby Wallace Monument!
