Inside Squarespace's NYC Headquarters: Designing the Ultimate Workplace Experience

For part 3 of our architecture talk with Peter Knutson, A+I committed to designing and building something that would translate the brand values into a functional and elegant workplace representing the simplicity and sophistication of a company’s product.
A+I conducted a 3-month workplace strategy examination that discovered Squarespace’s need for a design that allows employees to effortlessly pivot between individual work and collaboration. Employees wanted the feel of an “off-site” minus the inconvenience of finding a place outside the office. As a result, the design expands to accommodate areas that resemble hospitality and residential environments.

Also I have a suggestion that may help catapult the popularity of this channel. Try to get an interview/discussion with the architect/designer of 'Kojima Productions' office space (you may need a JP translator). I think a huge amount of people would be interested to watching something like that.

I dont think this space in particular actually managed to acheive a lot of the things it sought out to, and maybe even sought out to do some of the wrong things anyway, but I do really appreciate this channel. I am very interested in this sector of design and architecture. I subscribed, hoping to see a lot more offices/coporate spaces and discussions about their design (with plenty of photography). Nice video

you know, you could save all this money and just let your people WFH. you know, where people want to be. with family and real friends, not some work place colleagues which come and go all the time.

If I was a coder, I'd hate this space. Big open spaces and flat surfaces, means bright, noisey, echoey, and lacks privacy. Would be really hard to concentrate and get any work done.

I understand your concern but they just did the interior design and they also considered more private places.

Squarespace has crafted a workspace that is not only well-designed but also executed with careful thought....unlike their web platform that feels outdated, lacks innovation and is uninspiring.

Yes exactly, and if you're interested in A+I's work, we have two more interviews with them on the channel.
