I like that even though he was supposed to showcased the house, he explains and focus on the things he values. The painting of hisfather, the pork crystals that shows their business and the tree which he related to him and his brothers.

If you know anything about Singapore at all, you would know how lowly a pig farmer is in terms of social ranking. And here's a wealthy man not ashamed to talk about his humble social background. Great humility.

What a beautiful home. Well designed, lots of light, spacious and peaceful.

I understand the the spaciousness in this house. Because there's 3 generations staying there. Also it's a smart thing to do. When staying in under the same roof, you need your own personal space. To avoid conflict. If you have this kind of money you don't worry about cleaning ever. You have people doing that for you. And I appreciate the whole asthethic of the house. I hope Sheng Siong keeps selling those items which we can only get from small Mama and Papa shops. Things that are smallish and not sold generically in the other huge supermarket chains This feature sets them apart from the other supermarkets 👍

He seems very sweet in that he hung up pork stone at his stores to make his customers happy. He told his architects and builders to make his house pretty, to give his neighbors something nice to look at, so that they don't hate him and curse him with complaints. He keeps an ancient tree, to reflect on getting along with his brothers harmoniously. Diplomatic and courteous.

Respect. I've never heard someone take his neighbors into consideration when building a house - and a fine job of following his directive the architect(s) did. Bravo.

His house is very beautiful and peaceful. One can sit in one corner and study peacefully. Dream house.

Very similar to the Kai bo supermarket guy in Hong Kong starting with selling pork

He is the type of people we need: they don’t brag or anything but like to cherish their roots

For Asian house with too many glass panels will be too hot during sunny days and air conditioning have to be on in the day time but for Singapore which is an island to have sea breeze day and night will not be too hot, nice house 🏡

This house is stunning.

When i saw the difrerent shots of the house it felt like i was in a fancy mall with a waterfall feature...

Reason He got so successful is his Son married the prime minister Lee Hsien Leong daughter and hence got exclusive rights to open up in government housing estates. I remember going to their 1st supermarket in katong as a kid in 2003/2004 it was a really small place with things stacked so high it looked like it will topple anytime.

Well but not the location in Singapore,

He give out 3-16 month of Bonuses for each of their staff, even part time can get 3-4 month. So far the only company doing that in Singapore

I loved listening to the cameraman breathing as I toured this house...

And yet Sheng Siong still keeps products prices low and affordable! There's also a story that if yr family is having a funeral near a Sheng Siong, they would always give "金钱" for the grieving family as funeral fund.
