Delgado you OWN this city as much as anybody. Best wishes.
You are the most exciting tour guide out there 😜
Entertaining, the right amount of info without it becoming encyclopedic, and the host has a nice attitude. Well worth the time!
Interesting neighborhood and good work by your new camera guy Stewie.
Shoutout to Dorlan’s Tavern which, for any tourists, has my FAVORITE burger in the city! Love that you mentioned Jeremy’s Ale House!
Go St.jude much love thank you so much for your help... no more tears.... St.jen ✌🎅🌈💋💕🇺🇲💜
Oh. Tom you are such a ham, peeking up out of the Seaport sign 😂 Why, hasn’t Hollywood call you up to give you a talk show?!?!? Better yet go on America’s Got Talent!! Thanks for another informative tour!!! 👍❤️
I totally love you Tom, I pray you meet the perfect Woman and Have an amazing life
I thought for a minute you were gonna walk past the old Fulton Fish Market without talking about it! Lol Another great video Tom, there's some fantastic history to be told about that area and you nailed it, yet again!
Its amazing how you remember all the history , well done and thank you 😊
O M G as the kids say!
Back then when the Fulton fish Market was there you couldn't walk through there because of the stench coming out of the sewers from the fish slime. Yet all the fish were fresh and distributed by orders. The seaport built after the market moved to Hunts Point, had several restaurants available and several stores to shop . Then there was Captain hooks which many tourists went to pickup pirate stuff, sponges, sea shells etc. Then there was Sloppy Louise which made the most wonderful chowder anyone could have for lower Manhattan.
Best KZread videos I've seen yet on Manhattan. And, I've been searching for two years. Thank you for all you do to educate. Excellent camera work.
Best Manhattan videos on KZread! Thank you.
Thanks for showing us the South Street Seaport section of Lower Manhattan and its sites. This is a very good educational video to see.
OH!!!!!! I FIRGIT TO GIVE STEWIE, A SHOUT OUT!!!!!!! HE DID A GREAT JOB AS WELL!!!!!!!
Tom is great, but also surprised he didn’t mention South St Seaport role in the slavery industry.

I think he covered that in another video. Sick Plug!
As you were saying "just what we need, another condo", that eyesore by the Manhattan Bridge came into view.
US time zones began on November 18, 1883, America’s railroads began using a standard time system involving four time zones, Eastern, Central, Mountain and Pacific.
Love the history of South Street Southport, so cool cobblestone streets, beautiful views at Pier 17, my favourite area in NY ❤️
This was one of my fav spots to visit back in the days. It has no soul now.
Just one thing. The lighthouse that was a memorial to the Titanic was originally on top of the Seamens institute. Not too far from where it is now. The South Street Museum was able to save it. When I last saw it was just sitting on the dock at the museum. At that time, they only had the light ship, a schooner, and a sailing ship. The light ship was the Ambrose, and the sailing ship was the Wavertree. The Museum was just getting started. The neighborhood was not very nice at the time either. Abandoned cars trash and generally run down. Good video.
It's a cool area. It was not mentioned on the video, but a really Great AMC series was filmed there. The series Rubicon was filmed at the seaport area around the Fulton Fish Market and the Brookland Bridge.
the south street seaport museum is so great! and largely because of the sheer number of artifacts they have. like you mentioned there was so much pottery and jewelry and personal belongings excavated in these parts and the museum has it all! the other best part is the amazing old boats they've up-keeped. you can walk on them and evrything, they are so grand!
Can’t believe they changed Pier 17. I haven’t been down there in like 9 years.
Believe it or not, I ran an old press like one in your video. I only did it one Christmas season for a place called Miles Kimball. I printed on lunch bags and paper bread bags. That was about 30 yrs ago. I came home at night with more ink on me than the machine.
My grandfather, was a Captain off Tall Ships era, into steam. Have Picture off him at New York Harbor. He should only know , I immigrated from Denmark. Had my Art time in New York , Brooklyn, when studing Art at NYU.. lots off good memories. Press machine awesome, they had one at" Print Workshop" in Village, for Art, am also gravure artist. Love that part off visual art. Pearl Street , where you got fine Art materials. Brooklyn Bridge great...🎨🦅🗽🇺🇸🇩🇰🎉📬agree with your purpose, people history.🌉Well Done⭐
During your visit to the print shop, it would have been interesting to note where the term "upper case" and "lower case" comes from.
Your site is great!before covid I did a whole year ,starting with new years until Christmas at st pats.u have shown me so many things I didn't know. I can't wait to get back.thanks for your site
23:28 - Pier 17 was developed by the Rouse Company as an urban 'festival marketplace' mall similar to developments they had done at Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Boston and Baltimore Inner Harbor.
👍🏾 Love these where you interact more with people.it’s another strength you have, not just head knowledge. Thanks 👌🏾

“Head knowledge” ?!! As opposed to (juvenile) backwards-trucker-hat knowledge? Or watch-me-piss-off-this-security-guard knowledge? Or is it ‘another strength he has’ : Speed-talking through broad-strokes historical info, while cracking wise with the photographer knowledge ?
Tom for Mayor
All of Tom’s videos are filled with tons of interesting information. He should have his own show on the history channel, or Discovery,orTravel Channel
I acctually missed that part of Manhattan, I've been there only 2x and I never knew about those hidden places. Great video!
the seaport saved the neighborhood. in the 70's it was a hell hole. and the seaport brought people back. now its about to dissapear. im mad the seaport got rid of the tall ships
Tom,you just like history encyclopedia . This place bring back memories.
One of the few areas of Manhattan I haven't visited. Top of my list for next time. Great video!
Finally YAY 👍👍👍
Thanks! I learned a lot.
kindof a tourist trap and the public restrooms tend to attract some crazy people but glad to get some historical context on the area!
I worked in the building above Tkts. It’s a great area of the city. Ate at the Paris Cafe often, so I’m sad to see it’s closed. Was hoping you’d explain the clock wall above the Starbucks, as I could never get the story. Love your tours though!
Nice video. Love all your videos!!

Tom "a bouncer woman named Gallus Mag. She was a really big woman and she would actually drag drunk dudes out by biting onto their ears and dragged them outside and when they got too boisterous she would bite their ears off and put them in a jar behind the bar!" 😲 I think I might have to do an animation of that LOL
Great Tour !!! Thanks : D , now I have a craving for a beer and some calamari at the Ale House or somewhere.
You are "Best travel guide" 👍❤ Awesome NYC😄😘🥰

Yes, and such a beauuutiful personality! He clearly knows his stuff, and enjoys sharing with us! Fun, witty, and very informative!! I've never been to New York, but I have a friend who was born and raised there. She lives in Texas now (same as myself) and it's clear that although she's adjusted well, ...this is not her home. 'Home' will Always be New York for her!!!😎
Was the Fulton fish market in the '60's & '70's.
Tom , I like you just because you’re like the voice in my head that make sense. So I’m subscribing .
Wow. You are quite indeed a wealth of knowledge I must say!

Sick plug
Thank you for this great video Tom. You are the best!
Great video, sad they changed it from the good old days of the old seaport of the 80s and 90s. Had some good times there. 😎
Legend
Tom, I've heard that Same Ear👂 Story here @ HellCat Annie's in HK ...seems every old bar in NY has some legendary stories of badass bouncers & barmaids that took matters in their own mouths!! 😆😂😆
Sending lots of good vibes from the official land of " pão de queijo " (Minas Gerais- Brazil) ! Amazing vídeo as always!
Unity love ❤ one love 🇺🇲💜
sick plug babyyyy
I’ve walked from Parkslope to south street sea port for a week until I got paid from my first at au bon pain on water street
Tom, we need Sick Plugs of any of your tours and comedy shows, if you’re doing them. I was waiting for a joke when you passed the “Imagination Playground”, so I guess I’ll just keep my own punchline in my own head. Great job as always! You, too, Stewie!
