Inside Look: Timothée Chalamet's Cape May Movie Set Tour
Filming has officially begun in Cape May for the highly anticipated Bob Dylan biopic, “A Complete Unknown," starring Academy Award winner Timothée Chalamet.
Production kicked off on Sunday and is expected to continue through the week.
This part of the movie takes place in Newport for the 1965 Newport Folk Festival. This festival would be important for Dylan since it is where he debuted his hit song, “Like a Rolling Stone.”
The filming is mostly taking place at the Victorian Motel, across from Congress Hall.
To get ready for the movie, this part of Cape May went through a massive transformation back to the 1960s. Most of the signs were changed on the street and vehicles from the 60s were brought out to be parked at the motel.
The Victorian Motel was renamed Viking Motel, while the clothing store Galvanic was redesigned to look like the Mayflower Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge.
The entire building was transformed including new awnings, new marquee, and a freshly built magazine and toy stand.
Chalamet has been seen outside the motel sporting Dylan's signature hairstyle and riding a motorcycle with Elle Fanning, who plays Dylan's love interest Sylvie Russo.
A major highlight for fans: Chalamet will be singing in the film after years of preparing and working on Dylan's music.
Sightings of Chalamet starting happening later on in our day but our friends at Coffee Tyme were able to capture some shots which are featured in our video.
While there's no release date yet, the combination of a stellar cast and Chalamet’s dedication to his portrayal of Dylan promises a film that will captivate audiences.

I was cast as an extra in the film. It was an amazing experience! Thanks for sharing this footage as we couldn't have cameras on set. The memories are awesome. I've grown up in Cape May and it was a really neat, short lived transformation. So cool!

Hi Joey Thanks for sharing with us! I know that area very well! We always walk by that area when we are in Cape May in Summer on vacations! Nice job at all the changes they did for the filming of the Movie..... Cape May is so beautiful and peaceful! 😊 Very Cool indeed loved seeing it! Great stuff as always! It was fun to witness. Getting photo's sometimes was a challenge but they didn't bother you as much as long as you weren't too intrusive on set. The crew was great and very friendly.

Whenever I see Cape May all I think of is Dawson's Creek I don't know if they filmed there or not but it looked very similar. Make me want to visit someday. The show is a masterpiece of romance and tragedy from season (1-4). After that There wasn't any point in extending the show any further if you have ended in the 4th season I don't know why they extended it.

@@michelewestsisco8312 oh, sorry my bad. I would like to ask you a question why did they make season 5 and 6. There was no point. It was so bad I somehow had to forget I watched those seasons. It's a masterpiece season 1 to 4. I don't think I have seen a better love story like this. It's painful and emotional. I have never cried so much in a show like this. I think it's The Dark Knight of romance. Such a great story with such great details.

I grew up on that street Perry St. Joey give a shout out for Perry St. Have been going to Cape May for 67 years. I’m a former Steger Beach service worker. And I sold The Cape May Star and Wave newspaper. Which was printed in the Carpenters Square Building I would walk to the beach everyday.
I never heard of this Timothee. But I heard of Joey.
The slasher flick “The Prowler”was filmed in Cape May back in 1980. Never saw it but I will look for it.
I was down there this week and witnessed a lot of the filming. I’m not sure why they didn’t film in Wildwood, which was still not really opened up and they could have probably shot more scenes without interrupting businesses and had more themed places in the actual era. Cape May was booming this past weekend, and it was pretty inconvenient for a lot of people trying to enjoy the town. I’m not trying to complain. I’m just making a valid point. Streets that you would normally walk to get to Washington Square and some other places were completely shut down and you could not even walk down them

Great video Joey showing my age here this reminds me of when I saw the Robert mitchum film in Wildwood going home being filmed not one of his best but pretty good.
There's been a few movies filmed in parts of the county, most were barely a flash in the pan. This one should make quite a mark, being about Dylan and all.
I think what's more important is knowing if the damn Ghost Ship is fully operational yet or still a half attraction. That's the only thing Wildwood has over Ocean City.

@@frankrizzo7454 Timothée Chalamet is an Oscar nominated actor at the age of 21. Wonka made over 600 million you dumb and he was nominated for Golden Globes. Dune Part Two made over 700 million. He is like the next Leonardo DiCaprio.
