Inside LAFD: Light Force 92 Keep on Training

Your Los Angeles Fire Department takes every opportunity to train but the weekends mornings are specifically set aside for training....until the call comes through. Light Force 92, proudly serving Century City, headed out to walk a roof in their district, right up until the call for an elevator emergency came through. They safely got the occupant out of the elevator...and went right back to training, taking advantage of the fire control room to run an impromptu drill. We may have to start and stop...and start again but we "Train as if your life depends on it...because it does"

The City of Los Angeles covers approximately 470 square miles and is home to about 4 million people. The City of LA sits within the County of Los Angeles which is over 4,700 square miles with almost 10 million people. The LAFD serves the City of Los Angeles while LA County Fire Department serves the cities which have contracted for their services as well as the unincorporated areas. We are two separate and distinct agencies. Thanks for the question.
