Either inherited or acquired wealth. Usually it's a mix of both, as when you're born wealthy its muuuch easier for you to find yourself making good money later in life simply through connections, excellent resources like private school or top-dollar uni, access to high-value internships etc and opportunities for loans/business others just can't get as easily. Unfortunately such has been the way of life for thousands of years.
I think this is the first neutral house I actually like, the attention to detail is incredible (love the fluted coving).

The lighting effects, color palette, and organic forms (such as the staircase) are beautifully designed. I find the pendant lights in the entry too chunky for the graceful arches they reside in, and there are too many of them, creating a wearisome repetition of geometry. Pare these and some of the other pendants back, and I believe the harmony of the surrounding design elements will shine through.

Couldn’t agree more! They are so busy and sadly compete with the architecture instead of making the vaulting the head of the visual hierarchy, as they deserve to be.
This is gorgeous, love the wall panelling 😍😊

It looks beautiful and I'm sure it's the clients aesthetics. But it doesn't feel 'homey', like many others i've seen at this level. Still, magazine gorgeous!

some of the lighting is just too much.. the main corridor doesn't need uplighting with all of those giant pendants.
Those lighting fixtures in the corridor are TOO BIG and overwhelming.
Stunning and a showpiece, but absolutely overworked and unnecessarily so. It’s actually comical. Not realistic for anyone to feel at home or relax there. Who can possibly live there?
I feel some areas have been overkilled.
