Nope, the ones from the Athletic that broke these stories never said anything throughout the whole process because they actually wait to get the full picture before releasing an article

Ineos's actions and thinking appear entirely reasonable to me. After the Palace defeat and some other dog-awful performances, most United fans were losing faith in EtH. They may have still respected and liked him as a man, and recognised he was working with one arm tied behind his back with the obscene injury list, but the football was still poor. Had Ineos not been considering alternatives, they would have rightly been criticised. The stunning FA Cup win demonstrated what EtH can do with most of his first team on the pitch. This reminded everyone of EtH's potential. When considered against the alternatives out there, Ineos, ultimately, made the correct decision, in my opinion. Let's not lose sight of the fact that everyone simply wants what is best for United.

Perfect summary of things mate, Ineos did a review, they considered all possible options and have come to a decision to stick with ETH. Remember when clearlake bought chelsea and sacked tuchel immediately, since then Chelsea have been a mess constantly changing managers (yes chelsea always sacked manager but they look way more disjointed now)

Ineos did the intelligent thing, they didn't rush, they spotted some issues. I think that in the meeting they had with Erik these issues were also raised and Erik convinced them that he could improve his own performance

Not to mention..the fans also has some influence on this... INEOS knew how the fans felt about Ten Hag. They also were aware of the heat the fans had when they heard the potential replacements

Because that’s not how contracts work. You can’t just add a clause with a option to extend on an existing expiring contract. You have to give him a new contract since you have to show the media and the players that for the first time since Fergie, the manager is here to stay. It’s really a gamble by ETH to stay and it’s a gamble by INEOS to keep ETH for another 3 years if they’re truly willing to back him

Really interesting video and article. I don't think INEOS wanted to have to replace ETH this year. They seem to know they have a multi-year rebuild ahead, and, if they changed managers now, the new one might not last to the end. So, unless they had a clear cut candidate, it would be better to stick with ETH, start the rebuild and make an assessment after next year. Then poor results lead to the determination that, even without a clear cut candidate, they should switch if they could lock in a suitable replacement. I think the FA Cup final reversed that thought again, so that if they couldn't find a manager they were willing to 100% back long term they'd choose to stick with ETH. Now, with that decision out of the way, they can finally focus on the squad rebuild!

To be fair to Ineos my opinion changed quite bit and still does. But if finances played any part in keeping him its poor from ineos.

Sounds like Ineos were in pretty much the same boat as the rest of us. Like a lot of fans were questioning ETH's decisions throughout the season, like when he was constantly playing Rashford when he was out of form, and not giving Amad game-time, leaving huge gaps in the midfield, etc.. But I think we all understood that injuries, and some terrible VAR decisions, played big parts in the season too. But I do kind of like the approach from Ineos too, blatantly and shamelessly looking at every possible manager option available to them to find the best solution.

Ten Hat's biggest weakness is his signing record. Hopefully no more ex-Ajax hopefuls, and Wilcox in charge of scouting, should be better

I would suggest listen to Simon Jordan on Talk Sport. He speaks from being an owner of a football club. He in my opinion talks a lot of since. Time will tell how Man U perform next season.

I'm glad it's ETH, but I also feel many of the candidates mentioned looked at the recent shambles of united and thought would I want ETH position and said no thanks. Which if the case would be embarrassing.

One Name is absent from all the meetings held by INEOS over the week of the FA Cup final, and it's very telling indeed??? about just why his name was used so often by the media, press and every journalist? SOUTHGATE!!!!! not one mention of him in any of the reports of all the meetings, and names considered by INEOS, shows you, it was always a Stick to beat Utd Fans with, and nothing else they knew how we would feel about him, and chose to push that name more than most

the end-of-season review does not figure into your analysis - is that because you are not sure what it says, or do not believe that is no more than a figleaf for internal politicking ? but could it be that the review in fact painted a far better picture of ETH than the prevailing state of media desperation and INEOS lack of faith in ETH ?

EtH is being curtailed and submitted to head-coach by structure: * Direction; he is going to be tasked with executing the playing style and the line-up that are derived from the strategy. * Evaluation; training and matches are subject to weekly evaluations by the DoS. * Management; the coach is managed on weekly basis by the DoS. All is based on the principle that a coach (basically a short term actor) will not hold the keys from the clubhouse (long term company strategy).

This timeline and investigation is purely speculation. Im not a fan of INEOS, however they are running a business and the club is their investment. Theyve not done EtH a favor. And he is not out of favor with INEOS, he was hired by the Glazers. Nothing wrong if they did some window shopping but does not mean they'll give a manager an extension who they are not sure of.

I can tell you that Thomas Tuchel is not an upgrade of Teng Hag. Winning a champion league with Chelsea does not makes him a better manager than Teng Hag. Tuchel will have fail badly in that Man.
