Beautiful and elegant as one would expect, but still so dreadfully sad and empty without Freddie. 😢💔

I’ve been to Montreux a few times. My last visit was for my birthday in October, 2023. The weather was so beautiful my sister and I took a long walk along the lake and stumbled on Freddie’s apartment building. I took many pictures of it and stood closing my eyes, taking myself back to 1991 and Freddie looking out onto the beautiful lake which gave him inspiration for A Winter’s Tale. I felt so much peace, I can only imagine the peace Freddie felt, enough peace to know it was time to let go. As for the apartment itself, how tastefully the appointments were, every detail noted. The vision Freddie had to decorate each space so it went together as you moved through each room in the flat. One thing I’ve noticed with his residences is there are no pictures of his bedrooms. I’d love to see how well decorated he dressed his resting sanctuary. There are a few pictures which show him in bed in his last months when he must have not been well enough to get up, but wouldn’t it be lovely to see the room dressed to impress? No doubt Freddie spared no expense on such a coveted space.

Montreux is so beautiful, it deserves every inch of that little town. So peaceful. No wonder Freddie chose this place at the end of his life.

That was beautiful and sad at the same time!!! Montreux gave Freddie the peace he needed to make the decision not to take the his medicine anymore and go quietly into the night!!!!!!🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️😢😢😢😢😢

I think Freddie’s sister got the flat in New York, I ’m not sure about the flat in Montreux

Mary inherited Garden Lodge. My understanding was that the rest of Freddie's real estate was sold and the monies would then go into the estate. The monies would then be distributed as set out by his will. When the real estate (other than Garden Lodge) was sold , I don't know who bought it.
