If you watch the tv show Born Free from 1974 you see the airport. A very small airport and now it is so big.

Point of corrections sister Mzee Jomo Kenyatta was pm for only one year after Kenya regained her in 1963,and from 1964 He was the president until 1978 when he died.

It was named after JK in 1978...meant the president at the time not Prime minister. Glad you noticed that😊😊😊
