J Dilla was a great multi-instrumentalist who used samples as well. Sampling introduces the listener to musical history: when you hear a sample, you think 'who did that?' and go and find out more about that artist and then other artists and so on. Not to mention the skill required to sample well (Dilla was exceptionally good). So sampling is a beautiful art form as much as playing a keyboard is.

with the antonio davis jersey. i was trying to be a photographer back 20 years ago and photographed Frank n Dank in their apartment on King near Bathurst up here in toronto. they were really nice guys.

The beat is the instrumental of a track called 'Love (A thing of the past)' featuring Frank n Dank. It came on a 12" called 'Me and My Man'(another track that featured Phat Kat).
