Inside Collings Mandolins
Музыка
According to mandolinist Kym Warner, one of the most important challenges a musician faces is to "find an instrument that inspires you to want to pick it up and play it." This short documentary film takes an inside look at the art of crafting fine mandolins at Collings Guitars, providing a unique perspective on the instrument and what it takes to build them at a consistently high level of quality.

Bill gave me a tour of the shop once. He had a great sense of humor and was very humble. RIP Bill. Congrats Collings Crew for continuing his vision.
I just bought my first Collings a few weeks ago. I can't thank you enough. It is a piece of art.

That`s awesome man. I love mine too, they're great!
I got a Collings MANDOLA last year and it put out a gorgeous sound right from the start, that has only gotten better with play. It is also stunning visually with beautiful wood and finish. I could not be more pleased with this instrument.

Really beautiful instruments, guys! Awesome!
Stunning instruments. Wow.
Bill Collings, may God rest his soul. I have a 2003 MT2 that I cherish and adore; it sounds so good.
Man, I wish I could have apprenticed at that little Collings shop in 1995 as a teen after I was given a tour by Bill. I believe Spielberg's guitar was on the stand being made at that time? My mentor, the late, great Sarah Elizabeth Campbell had a sweet little red "Ruby" made by y'all. Hoping someday I can sell a few guitars and get at least a Collings mandolin. Keep up the beautiful workmanship!
I play a "The Loar LM-700-VS" I was playing in a Bluegrass Festival last week with a guy who has a Collings A style mandolin and it had a wonderful sound to it. I can't afford one but they have a good sound
Thanks!
Love it!
Fascinating!

Let us know the next time you are in town. We'd love to have you out if we can!
My son has a Gibson F-5 G Deluxe (wide neck) that he has literally worn out. Gibson regretted it once, and he'll always keep it, but we're shopping for a new one. REALLY considering a Collings. They do sound good!

did you mean regret that Gibson?

+Levi Jones - Gibson likely refretted it. Damn spell-correct, or a typo. It's a GOOD life for an instrument to wear completely out… it should sing and sing, not lay in a case or be in a display collection.
Wonderful looking instruments. I'm in the market for a nice American made mandolins. I will take a look at your line!
2:06 "we buy it from wood freaks..." lol
God bless Bill Collings and his legacy
I wont rest till I have one!
