Thank you so much for the free access to Be a Better Birder, I watched these videos back in 2022 when I first singed up to eBird, but I never saw the notification about this free access before and now that I'm watching these series again just for fun I get this surprise, thank you so much again.

a house finch flew into my home so quick before I could close my screen door, he perched on the blinds in my kitchen and before I knew it my cat Sam had caught him and brought him so gently to me, I took him out of his mouth unharmed and released him outside. Sam was so pleased with himself and so was I,, he got extra treats that day

Excellent tutorial. I was immediately reminded of how the old Peterson's field guides opened to a double-page layout of bird silhouettes comparing relative size and shape. This video just today came up on Facebook. Looking forward to checking to see if the Lab did other similar short instructional videos.

Morning doves love seeds and insects they pluck them from the ground, never going the hanging feeder

In an attempt to document all the species of birds that come to my yard, these clips are great reminders of the tools that I can use to positively identify them. Every year I have at least one new bird come in to feed or drink at the birdbath which is very exciting to me as I try to put together all of my observations since pictures are not always possible! Project FeederWatch is a fun way to get involved :)

You misunderstand my point - gulls and sparrows are notorious id challenges. I'd like to see examples of these tips applied in a more real-world situation.

OK folks, these are good videos - so how about a video applying these to something 'interesting' like Gulls or Sparrows. ;-)

My cat catches birds but she doesn't hurt them. She just brings them in the house and lets them go. Its always fun trying to get them out

The birds are terrified. If you own a cat, PLEASE keep it indoors or build or buy a catio.

We can speculate that this is how the non avian dinosaurs behaved aswell!

That's not the idea... These videos give one the tools to observe critically, to hone in on what makes one bird different than another... Why are gulls & sparrows more interesting then the birds they show?

I think you missed the part in the title..... Behavior. A turkey vulture has the size of a bald 🦅 eagle but there is a difference in their flight patterns just like the video showed us. THAT helps for identification by bird watchers, wildlife experts and just the average person on a vacation.
