The iPhone was an instant hit ever since it originally came out. Even though it was always one of the most expensive phones on the market, the iPhone brand was and still is the most sought-after brand in the business. This is because they were always beautifully designed pieces of everyday technology that have been made to a high standard, with high-quality materials and impeccable fit and finish. The high-quality exterior of the phone has also been complemented by high-end hardware and by far the most stable mobile OS on the market. What do you think of the iOS? All of this makes it all the more surprising to know that the iPhones have almost exclusively been assembled in China, ever since the original one. More than 150 production facilities owned by Apple are located in China and the biggest one is by far the Foxconn Zhengzhou factory, which employs over 350 000 workers! The whole complex is so enormous in fact, that it’s widely known as the iPhone City. If you own an iPhone, chances are that it came from here, as more than 500 000 phones are made by Foxconn Zhengzhou daily! Granted, this is only during summer, before the official release of the upcoming iPhone, but putting out 350 iPhones a minute is extremely impressive. Overall, the iPhone City accounts for more than half of the total iPhones produced.
The Zhengzhou isn’t the only factory complex that Apple has at its disposal, but it is by far the most venerable one, as it localizes a lot of different production processes into a singular location, which significantly speeds up processes and almost completely cuts off any shipping and transportation costs.
However, in the past couple of years, the relations between China and the US have been less than ideal, especially after China decided to support Russia. There were also a couple of strikes and revolts that halted production of the iPhone a couple of times during the past year. Apple has therefore decided to reduce its dependency on China as much as possible until it eventually cut ties with the country completely, and they've already started to look for alternative countries where they’ll start manufacturing their products.

correction - Foxconn factories are not owned by apple and have never ever been! All these planned factories are fully financed by Foxconn itself. Labour costs are increasing in China compared to India. The new factories in India will also be used to produce Sony's Playstations

So how do you think the world really works? Still if the workers are happy and they get paid enough to get food and a place called home with friends and family it should be a good thing. We all need to work or at least most of us but no one said its gonna be fair paid aight. Do you think all companies which take huge profits from the products they sold, always being selfish and doesn't care about their employees from top to the bottom? There are some CEO or owner who pay attention to most of their employees, by giving bonus, raises etc. There are just not that many compared to the greedy one. And we are here talking about workers that have to working hard consistently for long hours daily. Yes, they could be paid "good enough" for their hardwork, but then if you compared it to higher position, that get more for less work hours / days. Not everyone will think that's "good enough" anymore. It's back again to the higher position, whether they are blinded by huge profit number and neglect everyone that contributed to it or gonna be willing to share those achievement with everyone not just own pocket.

It is a really a welcoming step that Apple has chosen Karnataka as its location for Foxconn factory. Compared to other Indian states, the people of Karnataka are cool and peaceloving. They don't do unnecessary protests and strikes like in other states. Good step by Apple 🍎

Other than employee wages there is a problem with staffing and where they live. Dormitories will not work or be accepted in the US.
So sad they cannot make these new phones in the USA. The government and the unions have driven up labor costs so much in the USA even with automation it would be impossible to be profitable. When will we learn forcing companies to pay more only results in fewer jobs. Seems to me like lower paying jobs available for people that pay something are far better than no jobs that pay higher? Look at what is going on in California right now. $20 minimum wage. And what happened. Many that made less than that now are making nothing in the jobs they lost when the businesses closed.

From iOS 16 and later, stability and iOS are two different entities that they can never touch each other! Maybe in the past iOS was more stable with less bugs and issues but now is the same as android used to be. You can find issues in every corner of the software and this is the worst thing Apple did in her reputation! It’s the sad truth 😢

They still have to import parts and talent from China. And as soon as Indian workers demand better wages like what happened in China's, Apple will have to find another country where they can rip off the workers. Eventually, Apple will need to start paying workers a decent wage. Otherwise, they'll go out of business. BTW, even though Huawei is banned in most Western countries, it still out sells Apple.

@chopholtz4950 I believe China will call their bluff as they did with the unskilled production line processes. True China lost some production to cheaper countries, but Apple had screwed the Chinese company down so low the businesses in China were in some cases not even breaking even, while Apple was making bigger and bigger profits. China is up-skilling millions of workers atm, and I'm not sure if you've noticed, but I have, China is producing mostly good to high quality goods now, and most major brands have 'made in China' labels on them. China also leads the world in the purchasing power index. Meaning Chinese people can buy more with their money than an American can buy with US dollars. For instance food, housing cars etc.
