I am an ultrasound tech for the last 40 years.....yea 40 years! I recognize some of those boards made by ATL. It took a lot of technology back in the day to make soundwaves into images.Technology has really changed. That unit new was over $100k US. I use a $5k laptop unit now that does everything that unit did & I use it to do home cases now.Better on the back.

WOW!!! Coincidentally, they've lately retired 4 of these machines at the hospital where I work. They're just taking up space and not sure what they'll do with them. Those things are well built and super heavy. I work with a cardiac ultra sound tech and often have to push her machine to set it up. No board sort or anywhere to sell boards here in Canada that I know of. I usually just take them apart for the copper and aluminium. Just hoarding the rest for now: cpus, ram sticks, and all the little nuggets on the boards.

Do you have any of the motherboards. I collect old computer hardware and have been hunting for an iwill dp533 motherboard for a few years now. As far as I know these philips machines use that exact same motherboard. Please let me know. I am located in Manitoba.

@@CompGuy66, the machines are at the hospital. I don't have the space or any way to take them. I just took apart a few computers. The oldest were dates 2005-2006. 2 Dell, an HP and a newer LG. Some I've started to depopulate and others I left as is. I'll check for that # on the boards I already have. I did take apart a few very old computers. If you give me your e-mail address I can send pics. I live in New Brunswick.

I'd say get the other one but I'm biased to scrapping new and unusual things cause it's just so much fun. However you can justify it with those great boards for gold recovery. Plus, now that you have an idea of how to get in it and don't need to record, the scrap should go faster.

I'm glad you explain things. I'm neither a computer person nor a scraper e-waste or otherwise. I'm just a mom who is also a librarian who loves knowledge and has a son who is into IT and computers. He will go to computer engineering university in two years. So I appreciate learning this. I now can talk to my son about his passion. He asked for an old server and parts for his 16th birthday so he can rebuild it. He's been taking apart other computers as well. Anyway thanks for what you're doing for not just scrapers but future ones

I stripped an older philips ultrasound (crt monitor) from Seaside vets here in Wallaroo. It weighed 200kg according to the operator's book. Stripped bare, there was 74kg of aluminium chassis/panelling, about 20- 25 large pcb's, 2 large transformers. I still have the heavy duty dual wheel castors with suspension. Not a massive amount of wires. Good money for the ally.
