This week, we visit a familiar ground, the Arcadia area (the development next door this time) - a place well known for its peaceful nature but because of its location at the deep end, it’s really one for those who have a car.
Homeowners Yap Chow and Yufen were sold once they saw the place, mainly because of that wonderful wide unblocked view. The unit is a very large 1,421 square feet in size, and even more so considering it is just a 2 bedroom unit. What’s special too is that the balcony has been pushed out to incorporate even more space, and the living/dining area feels extremely spacious as a result (as if it weren’t already!).
The kitchen is an open-plan setting, along with a kitchen island in a terrazzo look. While the rest of the house is quite neutral in colour, the kitchen is given a lovely pop of colour, which helps to add some vibrancy to the space.
What’s interesting about the unit is that the bedrooms are located a step down, which does add more privacy (and a little bit of daily exercise too).
Special thanks to Yap Chow and Yufen for taking the time to show us around their calming home!

The open living area with the wide windows without frames is indeed a luxurious concept that is hard to create especially since most balconies are not that wide to begin with.

Luxurious space. Beautiful view. But somehow this video evokes a sense of emptiness.
Those wide window reminds me of the Korean film, Parasite where their wide dining hall display as TV view. I can imaging during a heavy thunderstorm view and night view. Not to mention the sunrise and sun dawn view. Just beautiful.

Wow! A space to "space out" in after a long day at work... A great place to host parties and gatherings, where guests can choose different corners to chill, while keeping the rooms away in privacy... What a pity, though with the current situation.. .. Hopefully, things will get better....

@@annieteo7169 it’s an old condo for sure. But extremely spacious and very unique layouts you won’t find anywhere else in Singapore. Put it this way, people who can afford to buy this place don’t mind losing 100K when they move out.
What is the provider or brand of their windows?

Propertyguru listings are 1.4m to 4m? I can't imagine balance 50 year leasehold asking for 4m, even if its in CBD?
For me personally, one of the most underwhelming features so far esp at a whopping 120 k (compare this to Ruby’s home!) . Hillcrest already come with this layout by default.. not seeing where’s the work so extensive that it has to incur such a fee.

I am inclined to agree, although quite a fair bit of the cost may have gone into the flooring, since it seems to be solid wood; and they may have also included the appliances, fixtures and the furniture in the cost? However, the furniture looks dwarfed by the space, and the pair of pictures hung an inch or two too high (but this is generally a Singaporean problem--for a rule of thumb, midpoint of frame should be about 57-60 inches from ground). Nice view though, and plenty of breathing room. Might want to get the pair of electrical points next to the bed fixed, as it looked a little crooked?

TOP 1980, 99 yr lease price well over $1.9m to $2.3m. The buyer after buying this, how to exit without loss, unless got en-bloc saviour? Guess this couple live in fairy tale novels to the end we last, for better or worse , up to lease run low or zero!😆😆😆😆
