Joining the list is the new, 1.9 billion dollar Allegiant Stadium located in Las Vegas, Nevada, home to American football team Raiders, as well as the UNLV Rebels. Today, we’re taking a closer look inside to see what makes the Allegiant Stadium a sporting masterpiece.

I love the fact that they used natural grass. Focus on the health of players.
Nobody in Vegas calls it the Death Star. Mark Davis called it that. Locals here call it the Giant Roomba.

You're right!! The retractable turf tray field was a borrowed idea from Arizona Cardinals
No deserto construir um estádio luxuoso deste é um feito ! Se fosse no Brasil seria o mais bonito, sem dúvidas. Um detalhe que eu achei lindo é o interior preto contrastando com o verde do gramado.
I had to look this up because Real Madrid's new Bernabéu project. They are planning to have a similar turf that gets held underground where it will be watered and they can move it to host other events like Basketball, concerts and etc. It's crazy what can be done now

I live here, when I see the pos all I think is "Roomba really missed the boat by not getting the naming rights". How fitting, a stadium that looks like a vacuum for a team that sucks. 😂

This field system is not unique. It was implemented at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium in London before Vegas.

Real Madrid New Stadium does have a unique system in the whole planet. The grass on the pitch is divided in 4 or 5 retractable platforms. They go underground for maintenance since they didn’t have any room around the stadium to retract them out. That underground was prepared end equipped as a green house with lamps, irrigation sistem etc etc. Look for it here on KZread. My English sucks 😂

Retractable roof doesn't necessarily allow grass to grow. Also, other events don't need a grass field, but other surfaces.

The grass field is only used for Raiders home games so the field isn't moved that often. I'm sure AC for the building consumes much more electricity but that's common in the desert.
