Inside ABANDONED DeGaulle Manor in New Orleans | Now Demolished

Ойын-сауық

The abandoned Degaulle Manor apartments in New Orleans was closed for good in 2012 but in 2014 they were turned into an incredible graffiti art exhibit called ExhibitBe. After the exhibit closed in 2015, the buildings have sat empty ever since. However they were recently used in films like Netflix's Project Power and in Black and Blue. They’ve also been a haven for crime and gang activity.
As of May 22, 2024 the buildings have finally been demolished.
This video is a re-upload from an earlier exploration.

As of today, the buildings are being demolished. It was great to be able to see and document the amazing artwork inside.

Were they tearing them down today? I spent the first year of my life here. A lot of my classmates lived here and the big vacant lot that sits across from it was called Christopher Homes. They were demolished years ago.

The art work is amazing. To ask a nerdy question: what medium did he use? If it was spray paint, like the graffiti, then it is even more amazing. It is a shame it can’t be saved as a regular installation somewhere. Some areas of NOLA seem to still be struggling, even this many years after a Katrina. Stay safe, but have fun.

We had an old hospital that was demolished a few months ago. It was full of asbestos and had been falling down for many years. It was a shame that it couldn't be saved but, the property looks great now that it is gone.

It's very sad that owners let this place get in such bad shape that it was uninhabitable. I'm glad we got to see the artwork before it's gone forever.
