Inside a Remote Cabin Home Built At The Base Of A Mountain (House Tour)
Ойын-сауық
Surrounded by mountains, Lone Pine by CLB Architect is a cabin home located in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. By embracing the remote landscape, the architects have delivered a cabin home that opens up to the scenic mountains, natural surrounds and a spring creek that native animals such a foxes, elks and deers visit.
When first coming up with the design of the family home, CLB Architects was faced with some design guidelines that prescribed that all the roofs in the subdivision needed to be gabled and have an overhang. However, after negotiating with the review committee, the architect was able to create a cabin home with deep recessed porches that created covered outdoor spaces to answer the design and decor guidelines.
The diagram of the home is inspired by an H shape. The built form is composed of two pavilions, one of which contains the public functions such as the kitchen, living and dining rooms, while the other pavilion holds the private bedrooms. Shown in the house tour, the two pavilions have been linked by a connector that also serves as the entry to the home. For the interior design of the cabin home, CLB Architects aimed to strike a balance between warm wood elements and smooth abstract plaster surfaces. For the material palette, the architect has chosen an array of custom decor details that enrich the home’s interior character. One such feature is leather accents that feature about the house in judicious ways to elevate the senses of touch and smell.
Playing an important part in the liveability of the residence is natural light. For Lone Pine, CLD Architects has embraced the wealth of natural light not just for warmth but for its ability to add drama and animation to the materials. Furthermore, the articulation of the exterior design of the cabin home encourages a natural and playful exchange of light and shadow that changes throughout the day. This is seen most evidently over the rear, covered porch that features a hole in the roof plain that allows the interchange of light and shadow. Further complementing the cabin home is the emphasis on indoor-outdoor living, an aspect that CLB Architects embrace throughout the entire home. This is shown in the main bedroom where the owners can step out and look at the ski report on the mountains and enjoy their morning coffee. In the dwelling’s structure, the architect has allowed for its owners a quality space that encourages indoor-outdoor connections during the warmer weather while, for the colder months, the interior design offers warmth and comfort. Built by CLB Architects, Lone Pine is the perfect city escape for its owners when they need a remote cabin home getaway.

As a composer, I am highly inspired by this channel. This place and these homes came to me as a big deep breath.. I'm glad I have found your videos
I think you're using the definition of "cabin" wrong.

Classic yuppie making the countryside less accessible by driving cost up thus changing the culture of the region. That said, well articulated and beautiful space - I’ll take 3.
The audio mix and background music are perfect for the pace and the imagery. Congrats at this new higher level.
The leather - a special touch. Beautiful and thoughtful design. Stunning home.
B roll is phenomenal. Production quality too notch.
Just architecturally beautiful along with the landscape design. You captured the light. I would love to see this house in winter.
This probably won't be seen or read by many people, but oh well. I'm a 2nd year Real Estate student, and planning to do a masters in City Planning & Spatial Design, as well as masters in Project Dev. This channel really inspires me to work with some of the greatest architects and achieve amazing designs that last a lifetime.

The best design I have ever seen. Elegant & cozy!
Just absolutely spectacular. Brilliant design features. Well done, all!! Lovely editing, The Local Project!!!
That golf course wild life
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing it! I think this is my favorite design on this channel now.
He talks about preservation of habitat then the overview shows lots of golf fields wich means deforestation lol

Yeah, I thought that took a lot of nerve, too. (And don't forget the fertilizer runoff into the ponds.)

@@Hermes_Agoraeus Right? I think rich ppl don't really get the meaning of true preservation. I've watched this other video yesterday presenting a house built inside a forest. Can we measure the impact of that just because someone wants to look at the trees through the windows?

I'm a little confused about why you watch this video, assuming you're subscribed. Mostly because I imagine most of the high-end/rich designs on this channel fall into less suatinable/preservative, but it's a keynote of a lot of design these days. Free speech/free to do what you want, just curious if you even enjoy the video/design, lol and if you don't what motivates you to watch?

@@solmas2111 well I watch all the videos from this channel and enjoy them thoroughly but that doesn't keep me from thinking critically. I think that's very natural. Talking about this video in particular I didn't even criticize the building itself it's footprint or the materials used. I criticized the landscaping which to me is just wasted opportunity to trully preserve the surrounding environment
Sublime! Intentional and balanced human integration of light & materiality in a most scenic place in time.
Absolutely stunning!
Expose the stitch on the handrail - so cool! ⚾
It´s simply amazing. Great project indeed. Congrats.
Wonderful ! 🤩 Loving these videos 🎉
Heavy barndominium vibes. Love this.
Cool home!
A stunning home
Really beautifully done
Beautiful home and location.
so deeply inspiring.
I wouldnt describe it as "remote" or a "cabin".
Nice design😊😊
Beautiful.
I know this isn’t a home tour channel. And I don’t need to see every closet or drawer, however, I would like to see more of the interior of the homes on these videos. Every time I feel like that aspect is lacking. It helps get a better sense of the space and the design.

So in love with this. It would be so useful to know the price range for building this type of project, so we have an idea how much we need to save up. Even a range (e.g. $5-$7M vs. $20-$25) would be super informative.
Imagine living all the way out there in nature only to have neighbors' houses 15 feet from your house
I stayed probably less than a mile away from this incredible house when I went to Yellowstone in 2017. I don’t think the architect emphasizes just how much wildlife there is in the surrounding area well enough. I sat (in a jacuzzi 😌) with a pair of cheap binoculars scanning over the expanse for like 2 hours straight and ill never forget how blown away I was by the sheer amount of large animals I saw. I’m talking dozens.
I've been watching your videos for a long time, and every time they bring so much positivity and joy! I am very grateful for your creativity! 🌟
Lovely videos, always enjoy them but can you take a look at the levels on the music? The mixing seems off on this video and the previous one.
Got around overhangs on the inside stair. The house is a relief from the houses with eaves. Better to view up and out of the windows to the mountainsides.
The leather parts killed it for me
I'm left wondering how the place looks in midwinter.
Looks like a Crowne Plaza.
Don’t they need someone to mop the roof and clean exterior walls daily? I’m available- I’m happy to use the guest room 😂😂 Stunning home
that's not a cabin, that is a full blown house.
I really love the stairs! Great house. However, Local Project, for this video, the editing is waaaaay too fast. It’s very tiring. We don’t have the time to see, it seems too rushed. I almost dropped the video because of that :O
"the subtractive moves that we make" means...? That the exterior has apertures in it for light to enter?
🥰🥰🥰
Imagine building a house out there in the wild, only to comply with a home owners association The perfect house for me is no neighbours, no HOA
🤤
There's a dilemma here. When you vacation, how hard must it be to find a place comparable to your own home?
what is the price??
Rapid editing. Too fast. Nice house, beautiful setting.

Agree. Looks like a real estate video.
I hear: money money money money money money money money. LOL
It must cost a fortune to heat up the space in the winter, with all the glass (is it at least 3 pane?) and the high ceilings....
oh to be rich.
Nice home, but it's a large, luxury ski resort home in a golf course HOA community...not exactly what I would call a remote cabin
Do I guet a free subscription by being such a good fan that I can tell here is used the same music as in the Armadale house by Rob Mills?🥰
those differences of drone and interior footages are really disturbing

Like Abba sang Money Money Money must be funny in a rich mans world
Conserved parcels of land - on a golf course. Ha.
It looks like an office rather than a home. Like every wall and floor is complete and would be ruined by artwork or rugs you might like to bring in. I’d like this as an office to go to but wouldn’t want to live in it.
Everything is great except the shot duration is short, the main object of the shot zip around the frame in between cuts makes me have to find where the main focus is. The shot size is not used correctly, some are too wide, some are too narrow. Some shot just shouldn't be in the video. It is hard for us to understand what are you trying to show.
It’s too fast, too short and just rushed through like the rest of your videos. Why?

the local project is a triannual publication with a youtube channel, not the other way around. the videos exist as a brief look at homes that are featured in said publication. instead of complaining about the pacing of their videos, i'd suggest reading their articles that are available for free on the website at your own leisure.
Nice video ruined by the loud & irritating music
cool house. terrible execution. place is an elitist dump. a place for the rich to live and or visit their third home one and blue moon. preserving the land scape would be not building at all.
-1 plz, these clowns w their vocabulary, come up w somn new - paper tubes like shigeru ban - that benefits most ppl not just the wealthy
We can really see a kind of lifestyle with a breathtaking natural beauty.🤎🤎
