Inshore Grouper on an Ice Rod

Спорт

No offshore fishing today. We caught these fish inside Tampa Bay! My friend Todd does it all the time. And he shares a lot of information on his KZread page so you can do it too. You can check him out by using this link...

Ice rods as I remember were only about 2ft long at best. Went ice fishing in the upper peninsula of Michigan many years ago. Had to chop through 2 ft of ice . Caught a ton of fat yellow perch . Fried em up and washed em down with a cold root beer. Yum! April 15, 1977

Kinda funny how something like that will stick in the memory forever. I was doing temporary duty at Plattsburg Air Force Base when a friend took me out ice fishing back in 1974. I'll never forget the fun, and the taste of those perch. LOL

From Marty's place to the shipping channel would be a long but doable paddle. If you Google map Tampa, Marty is on the Little Manatee River. The shipping channel would about 5 miles out give or take. Current and crazy boaters is what would deter me from doing that. I have a buddy who paddles across the bay to St Pete, but he has an ocean yak. Mine is just an inshore tub!
