What a brilliant hack! Within seconds of using it, not only did I get EVERY channel…it tore a hole in the space-time continuum and created a wormhole to another dimension. After that I used the device on the tv in my bedroom and that one opened up the matrix and I’m proud to say that I am now THE ONE.. sorry Keanu

I guess it all depends on what you consider to be a bunch of negativity. There's a lot of good jokes here, but even though theoretically this is good instructions for how to make a basic digital TV antenna, my guess is that quite possibly the video is monetized, and the whole point is to get you to watch it to the end. I don't mind that in many cases. But all the stupid Donald Trump is dead / going to prison / got wild and woolly with his daughter when she was a teenager... Cable TV was "sold" to us 40 years ago as "Pay up front and you will never see another commercial". I was so disappointed the first time I saw cable was full of ads and we opted out 35 years ago. We put an "old fashioned" TV antenna on our roof, and it worked until it fell apart, then we put a more up-to-date antenna in the attic. The money we saved over 35 years of not having cable, invested at a modest interest rate of comes to over $100,000. Laugh if you want, but contrary to popular belief, cable is NOT a public utility. Some people spend money on things they don't need, they cry that they don't have enough. Wake up. I enjoyed this video and the funny comments.

I think it would work better if you put the live wire from mains electricity, into any one of those ports, once the earth or neutral is connected to the metal case. It will definitely increase radio frequency gain and increased super-sonic dynamic occurrences (semi-conductors exploding). Ignore smoke or flames if they occur, just disconnect and put out side into a non-combustible area.

Nice; however, antenna is very directional and signal can be intermittent. It can be powered by an amplifier with a more consistent and efficient power ac source that produces less drain on the Grid. That may produce a smaller ecological footprint and save the person's utility bill.

Are the batteries set on the steel mounted with one positive and the other negative? Or are they both showing positive or both showing negative as to how they are attached to the actual antenna? A while ago, I had a cable man come, who does side jobs, that does powered antennas. And he mounted a very nice antenna to my back deck, and on one TV only, I get about 16 channels. S, not all television comes from satellites or is scrambled. So, if he can do that, then I’m almost sure this would work. As all you’re doing is building a powered antenna. And I’ve seen 4 or 5 variants of the same thing on utube, but so far, I like this on the best. I saw one done in a similar fashion using welding rods as the antennas themselves. And it looked very respectable when he got finished, as he mounted them into piece of wood that made it look like a work of art in itself. But you’d looks easier. Holla Back !!! Faubus

If you look carefully at what he is doing with the batteries, one has the positive end on the metal and the other one has the negative end on the metal. AFIK this is working as a frequency amplifier, which is a neat trick. my 2 cents.

Kinda new to working like this, so I have some questions. - do the coin batteries need to be brand new & what voltage should they be ( when I looked at the store there were 2 voltages 1 @ 1.5 volts & the other @ 3 volts. ?? - my "y" connector thing, that attaches to the bar with the coins on it just flops around, did I miss a step? - on the last cable you cut you put on a connector of some kind, but couldn't see what it was, maybe a transformer of some kind? - again on the last cable, my connectors will not stay in place, they keep sliding along the cable. Thank q

  • @InnovationPlusOne

No, the batteries don't need to be new and their voltage doesn't matter, so it's better to use old batteries, and you also need to press the ends of the antenna connectors so that they bend and don't slide in place.
