I feel like the sinkhole was probably a beta version of the steel trap. In other words, a one-time thing where your card attacks it, "falls in the hole" and is killed, but also removes the sinkhole card.

Yeah but like a slightly stronger version like any time it got attacked and then it would stay on the board
@goldngamer1365

@@voltagestorm1787 i think it would make the card attacking it die instantly while the card takes no damage, however the sigil dissapears, i'd also imagine that when something is killed by the sinkhole, the sinkhole artwork would become filled up by a corpse to indicate that the sinkhole is no longer uas the sigil and the name would probably be changed aswell. I think it was never used because A: one-shotting anything is op and also invalidates the spines sigil and B: it isn't a beastly card.

i think it would do a little more than that. notice how there are two arrows converging into one. the only other times an arrow is split in a similar way is when it affects multiple spaces

i don’t know what exactly it would do, but some of the things i thought about were - funneling the attacks of multiple opposing creatures into it (wouldn’t really make sense) - moving your creatures as close to it as possible - any creature directly opposite of it and the 2 spots adjacent to it will fall in if attacked maybe i’m overthinking it though
i actually asked Daniel Mullins the other day about the unused sigils! he said "Sinkhole was a weird terrain card that sucked creatures toward it and then killed them when they reached the same slot. I cut it because it was too complicated and created a ton of edge cases to debug. The other two were part of a really old idea of having some sigils in the rulebook that weren't actually in the game but were just there to bulk out the book and provide some curiosity. I guess that idea did eventually make it into the game in the form of the joke sigils in the Magnificus' and Grimora's rulebooks during the finale."

Sinkhole feels like it would have been a stage hazard like trees or stones
The Hare Hunter kinda looks like it could've been one of the Traders act 3 lore cards? Before they become more tarot-like. Maybe it was gonna be used for that and got cut for some reason?

Yeah it could be, good theory! I didn't think of it being one of those cards, but that would explain why the size of the art is different from regular cards.

@@Exxo I kinda guessed that since the name could be flipped around, perhaps the top half would have been the HareHunter whereas the bottom half the HunterHare? Something like the switching (or scrolling, in HareHunter's case) portraits of Child 13 which also affects the stats/sigils of the card. Not sure what mechanic would switch them, though.

@@Exxo Could've been like the bonelords boon, or another card like it. It might've made rabbits worth three blood so it could get out wolves/etc
When you have magnificus eye in act 1 before releasing him from the clock, in the circle effect that appears in the screen you can see various sigils, one of then funny enough is actually the sinkhole sigil.
I kinda have to imagine that the stones card was meant to be presented like the boons, as an option in a cut event that would take you from that event to the sacrifice. Not sure what the other choices would be, though.

I think the “Hare Hunter” card would’ve been a boon because of its size and somehow the stones and sinkhole cards would be obstacles like rocks and trees
3:43 Maybe the card's meachanic would be that when its placed it would randomly give player either "Fed Wolf" (like bloated stoat but wolf?) or "Escaped Rabbit" (like regular rabbit but with ability to move like Elk?) cards?
Cool video! I bet the Hare Hunter card would've been one of the boons Leshy can give you before the Act 1 boss. Seems in line with his theming, and those cards used similar dimensions.
I want to believe that sink hole would’ve acted like dark hole from Yu-go-oh, which wipes the whole board of all monsters. It’d be a strategic reset of the board state if you had it in hand and were at a disadvantage. I could also imagine it being a backpack item, like the boulder in a bottle, to keep it in limited supply.

The sinkhole isn’t an animal though, meaning it was likely an obstacle (like a tree or boulder). I think the sigil for the sinkhole would probably be like the black hole from PVZ heroes where every creature you play gets sucked in front of the sinkhole, even if you sacrifice a squirrel in front of it.
@rescuerex7031

I think Trap Hole might make more sense, cuz it probably would've been like a Stage Hazard, maybe would've been hidden from the player and if you put a card on it it would get destroyed
*act 3 secret spoilers* My theory for the sinkhole sigil/card has always been that it would’ve worked like the mycologist fight’s gimmick in act 3. The sigil has 2 arrows directed towards the hole from opposite directions, which seems to imply the the cards on either side of it would be sucked in at the same time, where it might’ve then combined their stats like the mycologist. If that’s the case, it was probably deemed to strong for an act 1 boss and got reworked into the act 3 secret fight. Just a theory, tho.

How do you fight the mycologists?
Hare hunter reminds me the trial cards. Perhaps initially they would have the image and then their name, instead of leshy naming them. Like trial of the kin having a name on top of an art instead of the simple wolf tribe icon. Similarly, the stones card reminds me of how the act2 enemies have cards that appear and then fly off screen, like the angler being a 2/2 with swimming or trapper/trader being a 3/3(2 ways) with the trap sigil. Maybe when you walked into the event, it would show you the event card and then the stones would appear, like a yugioh field spell.
If I had to guess, sinkhole would've been an environment card, like boulder or branch. Looking at the card itself, I think it would've been like the trap sigil, where it instantly removes a card, but it's the attacking card and not the adjacent one. It wouldve been pretty powerful, so i think that's why it was removed, like you said. It also would've hard countered special attackers like mantis, tanky hitters like bears and, since it has a bird in the drawing, flying cards. It would've removed any good carry card, and because they didnt want people to be stuck on act 1 for that long, they took it out. I think it would've been nice to see in Kaycee's mod though...
I remember making and posting a card to the sub named Living Pit using the sinkhole's art, I made it like a sarlacc pit thing, but I never knew where the art actually came from. Thanks Exxo!
I really like the Sinkhole and The Sacrificial Stone cards. So I made some mechanics that might be fun for them. Sinkhole: this card doesn’t need a sacrifice to play. It would have 0 attack and 1 health. At the start of the turn The Sinkhole sigil will activate and pull any cards next to it into itself stacking the cards under the sinkhole card. The Sinkhole will now gain the Attack and Health of any creatures it draws in. At the end of the round the sinkhole will revert back to 0 attack and 1 health. Sacrificial Stones: This card doesn’t need a sacrifice to play. It would have 0 attack and 5 health. A new sigil will be added called “Stealing Sacrifice”. This sigil will play when one of the opposing creatures dies and it has a sigil. Any cards next to the Stones will gain the dead creatures sigil. This is permanent until the round is over or it is replaced by another dead creatures sigil.
you are genuinely funnier than most big youtubers. not to say 10k isn't a lot, but you deserve way more. good stuff.
I do not know if anyone knows this but there is an unused form when you give the Transformer Sigil to a card in Botopia. It is called the "3LK" and when it transforms, it becomes a 2 Power unit with the Sprinter sigil.
is it possible that the hare hunter artwork is for a challenge for a boon that leshy could grant you? thats what i think at least

I like to think that based from "Sacrifices Must Be Made" that at least the Hare Hunter and Stones cards (maybe even the sinkhole) were the predecessor of the 3d structures. Given the lore choices for Sacrifices were in a card format. Stones is obvious but I wonder if Hunter Hare/Hunter Hare was an event to decide if you got a hare pelt or a wolf pelt. It plays into the Trapper/Trader switching and how you can't tell which way the cards meant to go. As for Sinkhole maybe it was another event like the campfire where you could lose a card if not careful? Though those are just my interpretations of the cards.
maybe sinkhole meant to be a terrain card that will spawn like grand fir, and boulder. and the sinkhole sigil is just steel trap sigil :P
@Exxo
Жыл бұрын
I think so too. Maybe it was removed because it was too similar to steel trap / the Trapper's gimmick.
Sinkhole effect idea : Whenever a Creature attacks a creature with this sigil, that card and sigil bearer dies
The text you showed said that the Long Art card had 2 forms; Hare Hunter and Hunter Hare. So the bit that would be shown would probably slide up and down depending on what form it was in. The Wolf in focus with the ears of the Hare sticking out of the bottom for the Hare Hunter, and the Hare in focus with the feet of the Wolf showing at the top for the Hunter Hare. Maybe this concept is what inspired the Swapper and Transformer Sigils from Act 3.
I think hare hunter would be a event card, or maybe a boon? Or something not combat related, wich would explain the tall artwork
Yeah! There's also a draft for an act 1 Woodcarver bossfight in the game files, but was never finished
My hypothesis is that the sinkhole might have functioned similarly to the Bone Lord sacrifice event. We saw the regular sacrificial stones as card art so that leads me to believe that other events had card arts too. However there are some holes in this idea (pun not intended but very much welcome). My main question regarding the possible "card events" would be the purpose of the sigil actually being on the card. Perhaps the event actually took place in a battlefield, just without enemy creatures. This idea reminds me of the Mycologists in Act III when they give you a Mycobot at the end of the fight. Perhaps when a creature strikes an opposing Sinkhole it functions similarly to the Steel Trap sigil where the card dies, but it doesn't give you a pelt and instead permanently removes it from your deck. I know that I'm probably jumping to some unlikely conclusions, but this stuff is just really fun to think about.
@Exxo

Yeah interesting idea. I kind of got the impression that Sinkhole would have been very similar to Steel Trap as well, maybe it was replaced.
Events being represented as cards would be a great idea for the irl tcg. Image having 2 item cards and 1 action you could refer too, sacrificing a card on the board to put its sigil on something else. Would probrably need balancing, maybe its locked to a certain sigil power level and under. But its a neat concept none the less.
I have this idea for the sinkhole card. If you have a Boulder in a jar, it will get sucked into the sinkhole and fill it, making it basically useless.
here is my speculation on what the sinkhole might have done: essentially what the bear trap already does. if it's struck, it just insta-kills the card that attacks it and removes itself. im guessing it also was probably an environmental card, much like the trees and rocks. so, it was probably cut because it was probably too frustrating to deal with what is essentially bear traps randomly spawning in normal fight encounters and to help make the trapper/trader fight more unique also, the power level system is less about balancing the actual cards themselves and more about balancing the create-a-card stuff in part 3, which afaik this is actually the *only* place the power level of sigils ever actually gets used. so for example, unkillable is pretty strong, but it would be a bit disappointing if it was considered _so_ strong by the game that you could hardly ever use it in create-a-card. on the flip-side, sacrificing a card with unkillable, if it was worth a lot of points, would give you a lot of points to work with for the create-a-card.
Love your content You should take a look at the fanmade grimoras mod
7:58 Maybe the sink hole was an early concept for what we got as Bone Lord?
The hare hunter could be a dire wolf pup card
Much of this comes from the "Sacrifices Must Be Made" game that Daniel Mullins made for Ludum Dare back in the day
the hare hunter/hunter hare had a caption talking about it being 2 sided, with the orientation mattering
My guess is that the hare hunter card would've acted similarly to an action/boon card (Hence taller picture), which the same could also be said for the sinkhole and sacrifice stone cards (which is why they aren't specifically animal designs).
I know I'm late to this, but the Leshie idea makes the most sense to me. Kinda look like cut additional bosses for Leshie, like a swamp would have a lot of sinkholes Or maybe they're cut uses for the camera. What if at one point you could've stored events for later use? Like the Sacrifice Stones, or a Battle?
The sigil altar couldve been artwork for the map
Fun fact: cave trial cards(and maybe totems too) make it possible for you to have cards with sigil you wouldn't normally get(like frozen, steel trap and made of stone) so I find that pretty interesting Edit: moon sigils are obvious exception
The lammergeier probable didn't have a unique mechanic when it was cut. Maybe it was redundant with the vulture at that point.
Late to the party but more special terrain cards would be cool Sink whole would only be played at you, but kinda broken and it would have the trapper effect. the stones would be cool if leashy played it with a random sigil then when the card is destroyed that killing card gets the sigil
Perhaps sinkhole would of made it so things that can move around suddenly cannot anymore? Or if something was to be put in the hole, the target cannot attack, but can be attacked? (unless flying then ignore obv) That'd be cool.
I just want to make sure you understand the mushroom-pelt trick. If you have two gold pelts and you splice them together you can get stuff like a 12hp and dam ouroboros
I think the stones card was meant for if you had nothing to sacrifice. To clarify, as of now there is unique dialogue that exists in the game for when there are no possible cards that you can give sigils to such as: "the stones quake with rage" or "the stones rumble" With that context, I feel like the stones were either meant to be some kind of secret battle event or a terrain card that you got stuck with if you go to a sigil transfer with nothing to transfer, similarly to the pack rat card. Maybe it would have had amorphous?
The Hare Hunter could be a cut Boon card that Leshy could give you before the Moon fight in Act 1. Perhaps it made all Rodent cards act as a Worthy Sacrifice?
maybe the reason why the hare hunter art work is so big is maybe it was a boon?
Some of these make me think that main deck terrain cards were a possible plan to include in the game's standard mechanics. The Sinkhole could've been a terrain card that acts like a trap when a card is placed in front of it (or already exists in front of it) and the stones could've been a terrain card that lets you sacrifice a card to put it's sigils onto another card just for that combat. Thinking about this makes me think it wasn't finished because it would've possibly made the game too convoluted and more difficult to balance.
i have an idea for the Tall card, maybe it was a hunting mechanic, maybe there was a card that you could deactivate for a turn and it would spend the turn hunting, and it would come back with a random reward, that could be a Rabbit or other things that it could catch, maybe it wasn't even a sigil, just a mechanic you unlocked at a certain point in the game.
I think the sinkhole sigil mechanic is every time a card dies from the card having this sigil it gains it attack and health
The sacrifice stone thing probably copied the ability/sigil of the card in front like mirror tentacle thing but isntead copying damage it copies well rhe sigil
Hare Hunter might've been a boon, since those cover more of the card than the rest.
I think the Sinkhole was probably a terrain card like the trees or boulders.
My guess for how the stones card would work is that you play the stones by sacrificing the card from which you would copy the sigils and then play put those sigils on another card by sacrificing the stones to it.
Fun fact: you can see the sink hole Sigil when you get a the new eye it has lots of Sigils on them and one of them is sink hole Sigil
The artwork of the Hunter Hare and Hare Hunter is probably oversized because it would have been two separate cards with the art connected.
Can you bring video about iscription irl or Inscryption mods?
The hare hunter was probably a Tarot card for act 3.
Hey, in this video you reference 2 of your past videos (the previous cut content video and the Sacrifices Must Be Made video) but I can't seem to find them on your channel? Did they get deleted for some reason? Would love to watch them
My interpretation based on the artwork is that the sinkhole is a flyblocker that instakills flyers... Due to flying being actually much worse then expected, I think the sigil was ultimately removed. Perhaps birds were too powerful in the original tests of the game. Idk just a guess
In my opinion skinhole would work somehow like steel trap with the difference that it cant die xD
pretty interesting, bloated stoat also is funni

2:50 maybe a boon??
If you attack the sinkhole sigil, you fall into it.
what if the hare hunter, the sacrifice, the sinkhole were as some kind of comic-inspired visual aid for some lore.
I feel like Sinco would’ve probably been an environmental card like a stump or frozen possum, at most maybe you could’ve gotten it as a trinket in a little jar
You know, the bloated stoat mechanic could have been reworked into the mealworm It's similar enough
I wonder if Hare Hunter is a boon graphic rather than a card graphic 🤔
Hey, what did happen to that cut content video?
the hare hunter may have been a boon. Boon's don't follow the traditional card stile and are just full images on cards. if this is true I would asume that it may have been a boon that gave you a rabbit every turn or something.
What if the Hare Hunter was supposed to be two cards. One being the Hare one being the Hunter
The HAre hunter card looks like it could be a Boon Card. Maybe this Boon would add a rabbit or a rabbit pelt to your deck? I feel like it was rabbit related in some way. Maybe every preditor card played would spawn a rabbit in your hand?
hmmm.... interesting.
Have you tried playing Yu-Gi-Oh master duel yet? It's really fun, and I think you'll love it
Crack theory: the Lamb...Lammera... *Bone Bird* is a meta joke about how modders like to implement cut content
Speaking of inanimate objects though, what the heck is a Warren? Isn't it just a hole in the dirt that spawns rabbits?
Sinkhole could also go as a sigil if there was an antlion card
