Insanely Steep Idaho Motorcycle Trail Leads to A Structure I've Never Seen [Williams Peak]

Ойын-сауық

This is one of the tougher climbs in this area as it climbs the side of a mountain all the way to its peak. A dirt bike can get you many paces, but this is a great reminder! What a beautiful, and tough climb!

Awesome single, and beautiful scenery 👍🏼 this trail looks very challenging and fun at the same time. Some of those switchbacks look super tight, and the dirt looks like soft sand wash. I’m out in norcal, our forests have been hit hard with fires in recent years and there’s constantly deadfall blocking the trails. Idaho looks like such a cool place to visit and ride 🤙

That's some serious good riding right there. Most people that have never been on huge mountainous area riding have no idea how difficult it is riding on a side of a hill and when you have that sandy washout stuff it makes it way more difficult. That's tough trail riding and you have to know how to ride really well to pull it off like you did. Great show RR, super good stuff!!! Your bike looks great, by the way!

Thank you! This stuff is narrow and steep for sure! The bike is definitely coming along too. It's in need of some hand guards now but other than that its pretty good! It still does need a carb rebuild too. Its a bit leaky!

Thanks for naming the trail, we'll have to try it sometime. I hate flag handguards for that reason. Merino wool neck gator is my favorite.

Well, technically i named the lookout but its pretty self evident which trail it is with that info! I highly recommend riding this one.

Beautiful ride, and bike sounds lovely to! Just tried some single track the other day and have been falling in love with it, so I've definitely been trying to pick up any and all tips of how to get better! For the cold, what I've found helpful is a neck gaiter like you said, but also Under armor thermal gear, both the pants and the shirt. Wore it under my jersey and riding pants and it was warm enough to ride without more warm gear on.

Yeah, layering up is definitely a good choice! I like to put layers on over my jersey although it doesnt look as good! I usually throw a sweatshirt on. I dont layer under the pants until its REALLY cold.

I always love finding videos on trails of I've done or i want to do. debating whether my little old trails bike has enough beans to do it. it can climb, corners are way to easy. but that loose stuff is a bit concerning for the stock enduro tires. did not know there was an actual look out up there.

Loved the video. Nice explanation on the pivot turn tip over. New bike? No wrap around hand guards yet? I tried riding my2023 xcw with the stock flex Hand guards out here in Wash PNW and got my fingers beat up. I had wrap around guards on it the next day. 🤣

I prefer flag guards as they move when hit, but still protect your hand. If you hit a tree with wrap around guards they wont move and you'll crash. The stock guards lasted a really long time on this bike, but these are not the stock guards. These ones were falling off when i put them on pretty much!

Have you ever ridden thru the Secesh trail? My group abandoned the attempt as I continued on for another quarter mile. Maybe the Most difficult trail I have been on. From the North end, Narrow side hill, steep drop to the river. At the time quite brushy. Hand guard it a hidden sawn off log and I went off the trail toward the river. Solo recovery from the thicket of limbs that kept me from continuing to the river. It was a solo party. Good times. 🎉

That trail name rings a bell, although i cant really remember. It sounds like a good trail though! I'm pretty sure i rode it on this trip, but who knows. Usually I dont pay attention to what trails are named really.

I told you I'd be back! 😉 Great trails out there in ID. I have a 2000 KDX 220r & rode trails in IL, WI, IN, KY, WV, UT, CO, CA. Radically different terrain across the country! Moab, UT was a TRIP! Highly recommend traveling to Hare Scrambles & Enduros. Any OHV location really, I had a blast in Glamis, Ocatillo, Pismo, etc.

Did you return down the trail the same way you came up or did you continue? I can't remember for sure but I think the plaque on the lookout was partly from the helicopter crash when they were evacuating the lookout during a fire around the 2005/06 time. Not 100% though.

I will have to look that story up! I ended up doing a loop. I planned to come down this trail originally though. Actually, my hand guard fell on the trail, so its still on the trail where i tipped over.
