After further investigation, I believe the advice I received from the manufacturer for wiring the DRLs were incorrect. The wires I connected likely powered only the headlights rather than the DRLs (as seen in the video). I suspect the yellow or red wires seen at 4:39 might actually be the key. No need to rewire for now, as my current fix with Forscan seems to be working properly for now.

The stock ones are pretty nice on those fx4 compared to like a xlt of those years

Yea those are my favorite lights for that gen, my 13 fx4 is the "low" trim one with halogens (they are smoked tho, only reason i haven't changed them yet because they look nice), small radio screen and cloth seats. Also the fx4 "high" trim lights are hids, not leds, so the color temperature is better than led replacements. Problem is that the oem hids are like $700 a pop, wonder if OP is willing to let his old ones go for a reasonable price.
