Back when you waited for it to come to VHS or DVD on mail order or your local bike shop to watch the video. Hanging with friends to see the latest in BMX. This, Square One Wide Awake Nightmare, The Fit video, Criminal Mischief, and Mutiny Subversion were the most memorable ones that shaped my riding back then.

This part defines so much historical excitement for riders of my era; the entire Forward video is without a doubt worth watching because lots of magical sorcery of the time is shown. I don’t believe BMX would have video game tricks today without this time in BMX. Thanks for sharing, John.

This part is THE part for mischool bmx. It’s a Rodeo Grind he’s doing. I especially like the 180 smith to 180 table out.

You gotta do his Etnies part with in my opinion the best transfer ever on the massive shark fin. I believe that video had the guy doing all of the slides too.

Used to have to order the good BMX videos out of Dan's Comp back then because I lived in the middle of nowhere. My Specialized Vegas must have been 35-40 pounds back then, no lightweight stuff like there is today. Magnesium pegs and pedals were as lightweight as I remember there being then...

Lets not pass up how heavy these bikes were, and longer, and with narrower bars. The best era of BMX, when it wasnt about how much you could cram in to a line

Definitely my favorite era of bmx! Back when you had to wait for a dvd or vhs tape to see new stuff. And it’s wild how much smaller bars were back then! 8in rise was huuuge.

@@johnrodgersbmx Back in the days of only watching videos when you bought a new release from your local bike shop. The anticipation around a new PROPS release was huge. Also picking up your favourite mag on release day. Those times will never be replicated unfortunately
