I’ve had some super bad slams lol My most recent slam was when I couldn’t turn in time while skating down a hill and I grabbed the stop sign because I was about to smash into it and instead I actually swung around the stop sign like some acrobat and my feet were in the air and then I let go and I went flying. I was rolling and spinning in the air and I slammed onto my back. I had my back pack on too because I was skating home from school and I had to check and make sure my chrome book wasn’t crushed during the slam. Thankfully the chrome book was fine.

Was into skateboarding for a short while in mid-late 80's . . . went to a local mall with a friend to see a Per Welinder exhibition . . . it was very informal / very cool . . . he had us stack some of our boards up on top of each other (including mine and my friend's) . . . to ollie over them . . . he did it over and over again adding more boards each time . . . ended up ollieing over 12 BOARDS stacked up! Not sure about total height, but it looked WAY more impressive than those two in the video ollieing over a ribbon / paper.

@phyglenaut3874

@@yuh9375 @YUH I guess you meant to say "crap" . . . I'm afraid not . . . was not dreaming . . . I was there . . . what's so hard to believe? 12 boards x average board height (especially back then) . . . roughly 4 inches would put that at about 48" . . . Per Welinder was in his prime . . . just because Guinness wasn't there to officially record it doesn't mean it didn't happen . . . Did I remember it wrong? Maybe . . . Maybe it was 11 boards, but I can guarantee without any doubt whatsoever that it was absolutely minimum 10 boards and was one of the most incredible athletic feats I've ever seen and I was not alone . . . everyone there was absolutely blown away. Even PW seemed pretty impressed with himself as if he'd just done something extra special and not just his normal routine . . . Again, I say it was WAY more impressive than what was shown in this video . . . and I mean, by a LOT!

@phyglenaut3874 yeah sure I believe you buddy. Don't know why you consider it any more impressive than the ones in the video. The kick flip at the berrics was for sure not impressive at all and they were just doing that for a youtube video. It's important to remember also that none of these guys are really impressing the skateboard community as much as people who are fooled into thinking that world records equals good skating. The record is more like highest "measured from flat ground specific trick." I mean it's a completely sterile unimpressive expression of skateboarding no matter how many boards you stack .

I remember watching the episode of fantasy factory where they did that record. As unnecessary as it is, it can't be any worse than world's largest chair or largest pair of shoes. Some people want to make or own the largest of an object, might as well have a skater make the largest skateboard. And it's a functional skateboard, not just one large piece of concrete that's shaped like a skateboard.
Wester’s record got broken at the top speed event that same year, currently it’s Pete Connelly at 91mph

2:35 bro... that ramp doesn't cost a "few million dollars"... LOL. A few hundred thousand dollars maybe. A regular "pro" half pipe costs anywhere between $2000 to $5000 depending on the size. But in the end, you're still dealing with basic materials, and then labour. The mega ramp is just wood and steel. If you told me 300,000 dollars I would be surprised, but would believe it. But it's certainly not nearing the million dollar mark, let alone 2 or 3 million.
2:16 oof that man probably never gonna skate again after that crash...

You forgot the current Guinness world record holder for the most 360-degree spins is Richy Carrasco, who completed 142 and Mitchie Brusco lands the first 1260 in skateboard history
I like how in the beginning you edited the video to making it look like Chris joslin landing the tre flip down el Toro
Not just passing you. Passing you while you are sitting still. 89... that's FN insanity. It's like floating, but a grain of sand, or the slightest imbalance at that speed on a board, and game over. No reset.

How does skateboard rise up under the feet during an ollie? Or other jumps?

I have hung out with Kyle Wester the guy with the high speed record for a skateboard. Hes a really chill dude. Also yea there is no way you are going to set that record on a normal skateboard but really longboards are just skateboards without kicktails usually and more stable trucks. You can however go well over 30mph without getting speed wobbles on a regular skateboard you just need higher duro bushings and strong ankle muscles. The main thing that really determines the high speed record for a skateboard are the roads tho. People who skate downhill are constantly scouting for the fastest steepest roads possible and there just aren't that many prestine paved roads that can get you any faster than that. If you built the perfect road down the side of a mountain you wouldn't even need a leather suit or the fin to break the record but no one wants their tax dolars going towards roads that can't even be driven.
