Nice to see Adobe enhance this feature, but Topaz DeNoise AI is way ahead of this and offers a lot more control. I take a lot of concert photos and can't use flash, so I'm restricted to a ISO of 2500 or more and it does a great job. Oh, and it's not restricted to RAW.

Superb superb superrrbb good luck....

with TK actions panel in PS - you had that options already many years ago :D and it offers still more/better/easier workflow than in LR. but nice to say that they try to update :)

the last photo you shot at f1.8 wouldn't it be better to shoot at a higher F stop? i understand it was dark probably the best option to keep iso down

The masking is Lightroom specific. Denoise is also available in Photoshop Camera Raw.

This update is for Lightroom Classic, so not for the mobile version

DXO still does a lot better job denoising and it's a lot faster too. I simply run DXO on a batch and then load all DNG files into LR.

How did you get lightroom to open Sony. I just got the a7iv. Could not open files

Hi, I can't find where the history is in the new lightroom. Where do I find it please?

Mine gets about halfway through processing and then says I'm not using a compatible file type... Using Nikon D850 RAWs. Very annoying it doesn't work. Maybe next update?

As far as I know, it mainly uses your GPU

You have to be in Camera RAW, a part of Photoshop. When you either open a RAW file in Photoshop, Camera RAW will be the first thing that shows up. Or when you have a file open: at the top, go to "Filter", Camera Raw Filter and that will open up Camera RAW. Here you will find a similar lay out like Lightroom.

Do you need to an actual update or will denoise just be in the edits panel now?

You need to do an update via Adobe Creative Cloud

I never used LR, just fast check it. I use PS for all edeting. Question, is this functions in latest PS? (That I dont have) If not, why?

Once you've applied the Denoise to your image and Lightroom has created this extra DNG file, you cannot make any changes to the Denoise as it's embedded in that new DNG file.

You can download and install all Adobe software through the Adobe Creative Cloud app. Just look for Applications and there you'll see all the different options.

I’m pleased that Lightroom has this great denoise feature but I’m upset that I won’t be able to use it unless I purchase a new laptop, my dell Inspiron 15 7000 cannot run the denoise function 🙁

Yes it is quite demanding, that's unfortunate! It's supposedly most demanding on the GPU, you could look into a possible upgrade of that. It should be much less costly than an entire new laptop. However, definitely do some research if it's at all worth it! 👍

@@SightseeingStan Yes the GPU is the culprit I think, hopefully it’ll fix the problem. Your machines estimated time was in seconds, on mine it was 12 minutes and shortly after there was an error report.

That's odd... Have a look at these steps that Adobe suggests when available updates are not listed: helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-application-recognizing-available.html I hope that helps!

Try this: Add glasses and then use a mask for the eyes.

All my photos are in LrC and it doesn't have the denoise feature. How do I move my my images from LrC to LR?

Denoise is only available in Lightroom Classic (LrC). If you don't have it available, you are most likely not updated to the latest version. In Lightroom, on the top of your screen, go to Help > Updates.

It's most likely related to an inadequate GPU. That tends to be the common factor with people having issues with slow Denoise inside Lightroom.

with an upgraded Denoise in LR I feel my Topaz subscription has been such a waste!

Denoise does not work with DNG RAW images. :l

@@SightseeingStan So for me this feature is showing in non-Classic Lightroom. The issue I'm running into is that I get the pop-up to de-noise, it supposedly generates the enhanced DNG, but then doesn't actually apply it to the photo as displayed in Lightroom. Trying to figure out what the frell is going on. This feature is a game changer for me, so I'm picking away at trying to get it working (hence stumbling on your video, which is excellent).

Oh bloody hellfire, so... it shifts the enhanced photos to the end of the album de-stacked when applying a "flagged" filter. Ugh, that's a bit pants...

Nice vid! I was so excited to use the denoise tool, but I get this error: Denoise is not compatible with the format of the photo. I shot in RAW. Some of the pics of the same set does work with the tool. Have you any idea why the rest is not?

@@lisavaneekeren1 Could it be that the photo was taken in Compressed RAW instead of Uncompressed RAW? This is a setting you can change in your camera. Other than that, I am currently not aware of any other fix unfortunately...

Unfortunately, at the moment Lightroom Denoise only works with RAW files, not with JPEG.

2 months ago I bought Topaz DeNoise AI :( because I needed denoising tool..also I pay for LrC..nice :D what a waste of money

OK! I need Adobe to stop with the separation and take all of the existing lightroom and new lightroom features and replace Lumetre with them! I don't know why they have a separate plug in when they could just put Lightroom into Premiere! That would make it compete with Devinci in my opinion.

All adobe projectst are still appalling when you look at accessibility features. People with less than perfect eyesight can't use any of the graphics apps, and there's no way to ask anyone for help either.

A great feature, but 40 minutes to denoise one photo - wow

Yes it does take a fairly decent GPU for the Denoise to be usable...

The new Denoise feature in Lightroom works wonders, until it doesn't and crashes the program

I think the denoise is'nt near as good as DxO pure raw and takes much longer time at my computer!

Haven't had the opportunity to compare it to other noise reduction software. However, I think it's an incredible upgrade from the old noise reduction in LR and one doesn't have to purchase another software.

It doesn't apply aggressive sharpening the way pure raw does. It allows more control, but does take more time.
