Honestly though do we want it to be more popular? Look at what happened to surfing, its still cool but its not like it used to be

@@muira58 your though is interesting. I agree with you in the way that I wouldn't like windsurf to be fully mainstream with tons of kooks on the spot just to publish an Instagram reel. But we have to face the truth, if we compare windsurf now to what it has been before, it is almost dying... Less and less people are windsurfing. I meet mainly 40-50 years old men on the spots. And that's the reason why the gear is so expensive, that's why pros windsurfers are struggling to earn decent money. So It would be positive to everyone to make it more popular but till a certain point.

@@oramonteu I know what you mean a happy medium would be great but it seems so hard to achieve in anything. It will be interesting to see if the new wave of interest in surfing lasts or not. But with windsurfing maybe that’s what it’s meant to be, a niche for a few cool guys that know what’s up. I know personally expensive gear never scared me off, and I think you get what you pay for as well. I love to sail as well and it’s a hobby that’s also dying, maybe people now don’t like going where the wind blows them so much! Haha

You need to hire this guy full-time! And take care, those blades could leave some serious scratches, but the guy clearly knows how to handle a drone!

Myth Busters tested the hazard of drone props. They are quite flexible and incapable of breaking your skin. They also had a very big one with carbon fibre props and that did some damage

That footage was insane. It shows what it feels like when you’re screaming along above the water on foils.

Those fpv's that can mount a gopro will always have an advantage as far as image quality. nice work!

Honestly I feel what really makes you FEEL it is the proper motion blur from shooting after 180 degree shutter rule. Action cams and phones boost to such an insane shutter speed you dont get a sense of speed at all because everything is frozen completely on every frame. But it is not frozen. It is a blur and that is so engaging to behold on top of the more pov like angels. Love it! One day We shall race Nico so called Prien. ;)

He is flying a Gopro but maybe an ND filter to get the slower shutter

That clip at 2:10 is insane!!!! So close to the water. You can really feel what's it's like. Then the clip after that, flying all around the foils and ending with that epic view was brilliant! Amaaaazing drone flying

Love the clip. What I liked better about the short is the pre-recorded sound of the foil slicing air. This is the moment I know I'm getting into the sketchy area speed-wise. For me, that's much slower, however, it feels exactly the same.

I sail an Inter 20 Catamaran on Lake Michigan via Lake Macatawa, and sometimes I hear a soft thud when I'm really moving. It's nothing like you guys on the foiling windsurfer, but I think it's a fish that my deep centerboard hits. When I saw this incredible video, I wondered if you ever hit fish. I used to love windsurfing.
