Insane Day at RAF Lakenheath F-16s & F-15s | 8th September 2020

With 16 Aviano F-16s deployed to RAF Lakenheath it seemed rude not to finally pay a visit to this fantastic airbase. Starting the day bight and early we were able to film 3 separate launches, one of which contained over 30 jets. Also featured is some impressive dusk launches of the F-16s and 493rd FS F-15Cs. All in all around 50 fighter launches and recoveries in one day.
Wave 1: 492nd/494th FS F-15Es.
Wave 2: 493rd FS F-15C/Ds, 492nd/494th FS F-15Es & 555t/510th FS F-16C/Ds.
Wave 3: 493rd FS F-15Cs & 555/510th F-16C/Ds.

Brings back memories -- I used be a WSO flying Right Seat in F-111F's out of RAF Lakenheath. Mass launches were always fun :)

I lived in lakenheath and as a child member these taking off all the time, the noise was so loud. Great days though and found memories of the base..

Yes, they only had 1 D variant with them on the deployment.
