Insane Cockpit View of US AH-64 Apache in Scary Gunnery Exercise
Welcome back to The Daily Aviation for a feature on the incredible capability of the US Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt to land on almost any surface, keeping it close to the front line and in the fight.

Just the calmness and how steady the Apache and the warthog either doing some evasive or aggressive maneuvers while unloading all its might, really gives out a menacing and a formidable opponent...Aerial recon and support is critical to any battle and these two along with the tanks redefines the ground and pound and gives it a new meaning.

I love how these military videos are titled about a specific helicopter but by the end you are pretty well versed in several aircraft!
The Apache is a beautiful and terrifying machine, always been a favorite since its inception.
Long live Great America 🇺🇸🇺🇸
I have a friend who used to pilot apaches. Youngest Apache pilot out of Utah ever. He told me that you can only fire so much of 30mm chain gun before the barrel starts to melt and droop, making it ineffective until it cools down. I thought that was pretty cool.
@christianalley7669
Жыл бұрын
@@tryingtotryistrying maybe melts was the wrong word, but it only got to that point if you fire to much. The way my friend explained it is that he would only do a certain amount of burst fires from the cannon before not using it for a certain amount of time, preventing any possible malfunction. But if you do fire it for to long, he said the barrel would droop, a round would get stuck, and then the next round fired would explode on impact, basically destroying the helicopter.

@BonesTheCat

@@warfarenotwarfair5655 Contested airspace means enemy aircraft. You'll always have ground to air fire as long as there's someone left to shoot in the air with a .22 let alone anti-air ordnance. I can't find any reference to an A-10 being shot down by an enemy aircraft. I found 12 by AAA and SAM at a loss rate of fuck all given the missions they've flown over the decades. Less than 0.06%. That 0.06% was gulf war and there were 7 losses, so there's only been 5 after that conflict as far as I can find which would add up to 10's of 1000's of sorties with 5 losses. Happy to be corrected. Is just what I found on a quick search. But, suggesting it's a redundant "one-trick-pony" aircraft is clearly complete bollocks. Boots love air support regardless of the platform. They all have their role. Out to you.
@warfarenotwarfair5655

@@BonesTheCat It has taken significant damage enough to send it to the boneyard more than once since 1991. It relies on F-16s, and F-15s to clear the airspace which makes it a redundancy and nothing the USAF wants. The only people who want it are corrupt politicians using the military as a jobs program for their constituents and their allies constituents and ignorant people such as civilians in the media. The USAF has all of the data and shows the A-10 being obsolete for 20 years. This is intelligence/statistics versus corruption and WWE self-educating opinion types. This isn't even a debate, the A-10 is obsolete.

That's a good report. Helicopter physical energy is jumping flight with wind propeller. There are bumping guard mechanics dampers. Head cabin, turbine plus wing, slim body to tail and armors. Under the whole body, there's plat aero dynamics flowing stream. That's my ques!☆☆☆☆☆ Punching down under riveting and link to turbo flow throttle valve to low mid tail between body and ventilate armor gases and then rubber tubes for anti tiltering.
The Greatest ever heli produced though is the Uh-1 Super huey. Just like the a-10 the Huey you hear that bad dude you know you done did goofed up and are about to have a bad day. There is a video some where unless it was pulled where the Army retrofitted it and gave some upgrades that was just absolutely scarey even blackhawks and other aircraft pulled away to let it do its thing in Afghanistan. Absolutely beast mode.

Ships? No. The AC-130 cannot survive in contested airspace just like the A-10 cannot. Aircraft like the F-15, F-22, and F-16 must establish air dominance for anything like an AC-130 or A-10 can survive which is why the A-10 is also useless as there are no more Soviet tanks to fight in Germany.

Never let Congress create an aircraft! Another abomination is the KC-46, Boeing corruption anyone?!

Anyone who went the warrant officer route got any advice? I dabbled with the idea of joining for army aviation when I was seventeen but never furthered it for family reasons. At the time I took a practice ASVAB test and did well even though I went in blind as I was "homeschooled" aka ignored and expected to teach myself everything. If I actually prep for it this time I'm confident I can score much higher. Currently taking a few months to get myself down to my target weight before going in for that, but was just curious what all they look for/what areas count the most.
you all see that 2 people with insane DCS world Apache set up yet?
Its called map of the earth when they are navigating close to the ground or near terrain to avoid detection. I had one fly over my tank and I can literally jump and touch it. thats how close they will come to a combat vehicle or even maneuver with them.
Is it me or am I the only one that would be nervous af while hovering?
For years I shot and edited videos of the Apache for Boeing. We quickly realized that having an electronic shutter turned on gave the rotors a very artificial, unrealistic look. We always shot at 60 fps and the rotors in our videos looked just like they do to the naked eye -- much more natural. I always cringe when I see rotors looking like they do in this video. Oh, the stories I could tell!!
