@@gendale9992 Yes there are many incidents of cars and vehicles falling off the cliffs. Apart from that the vehicles can get carried away by the debris brought in by the landslides that can happen during the monsoon. Himalayas have a very fragile geology so construction of roads through them disrupts the structure of the mountains that leads to more natural catastrophes.

When that man got out, and then the vehicle moved, I thought he was he the driver... then I realized this was a right-hand drive.

Extreme busser here! LOL! Hand on heart I can say the laughing & giggling is ABSOLUTE TERROR! This is the price you pay to view some of the most awesome landscapes in the world. I did overlanding (bus) in India, Nepal, China & Tibet in the late 90's & even survived a head on crash with a truck on the Tibet border where I saw the words "game over" pop up in my eyes. However the Nepalese bus drivers I consider to be the finest in the world. They are safe, precise & never take risks (Chinese bus drivers are INSANE!) The trip from Gorakhpur - Kathmandu - Pokhara is spectacular! In Europe the best bus ride is Turin to Cervinia in the Alps. So I salute ALL Neplese bus drivers & Sherpa's with so much respect. You awesome people make the seemingly impossible, POSSIBLE! xx

My father (former pilot) had it so bad that any high point visit, e.g. Empire State building viewing platform, would have plastered against any interior wall, couldn't get within ten feet of edge.

I live in the Himalayas and the road can get very dangerous at times . Also you can have landslides and rocks suddenly falling and temperature can fall upto 5 degree Celsius . But accidents are caused mostly because people act negligently while taking pictures and accidentally falling down the cilff and private cars not being used to driving for long hours and dozing off. drivers hardly cause accidents . It's about 12 hours journey . The plus point is , it's a literal heaven , with snow caped mountains , spiked trees, frozen lakes , the clouds spreading out beneath you . Words cant describe how amazing it is . It's breathtaking.

i once took a ride in a former mine, where a giant mine truck drove tourists around on its modded bed. one of its tires even drove over a hole in the road that would lead into the abyss. also there were gigantic stone grinders that just were giant holes in the ground with the turning grinder at the bottom. unreal. i must visit again some day. in austria.

This is how I learn how to drive in mountains of Albania . It was a very narrow road and when I was having another truck ahead coming toward me , I had sometimes to have one of the rear double tires hanging on the cliff . And it was 1000 meters cliff sometimes more .

@L T Dear friend, I again suggest you to read comments properly before judging anyone. For your kind information HRTC is run by Himachal Govt. Hope you know that. I want to ask you some questions. 1. Where did I said that HRTC drivers are not skilled? 2. Where did I disrespect HRTC and @bigpump_416? 3. Where did I used offensive words to get you offend? 4. Where did I said HRTC is not lifeline of Himalayan roads? 5.Where did I declined HRTC is lifeline of millions people? I commented because may be @bigpump_416 not know about the place. So I just tried to give him correct information. If you go throughly @bigpimp_416 comments you will find that he has mention bus. Hope you will find it. Now if come to your moral lecture , either your language is weak that's why you didn't understand what I commented. Your parents must be feel sorry for you. After spending thousands of bucks; you even can't understand language properly and I regret that i have to argue with such persons who don't have any moral at all. Thanks Brother.

Tie me up to every roller coaster rides in the world. But this, I would never entrust my life to any driver.

I've been down a similar road to this one and I can tell you two things. 1: We laughed, joked and giggled just like they did 2: we were all absolutely shitting ourselves :D
