They acknowledged the problem with counter swapping for tanks and then proceeded to buff literally every tank and not change how any of the abilities function. This patch literally changed nothing about counter swapping bro

You know it's a bad patch when even Reddit agrees it's doesn't fix anything and that they should bring 6v6 back.

Would this also cause an indirect buff to Hog as well? Since the damage passive is reduced would that indirectly give him a buff through vape as well?

It's crazy to think that any one of these things (Buffing every Tank hero individually to an insane level, Increasing armor damage reduction by double, reducing dps passive against tanks, Ultimate generation reduction from damaging tanks) would have been pretty impactful by themselves, but stacking every single one of these things together. It honestly feels like the devs are trying to get revenge on everyone that said playing tank isn't fun and are applying malicious compliance. "Oh, you don't like playing Tank, fine, we'll make them so ridiculous that it ruins the entire game."

So pretty much they gave dps a passive to kill tanks easier and then gave tanks half the normal effect of it..

I really hope this is a last desperate attempt at balancing 5v5 before they give up on it and say fuck it 6v6 is back

Holyyy shit, might as well play pokemon blue at this point.

As someone who never played OW1 and was a 5v5-enjoyer (Mid Plat all roles across multiple seasons), I am starting to feel like 5v5 was not the way to go. When I play Tank, it feels difficult at times to do anything. I, PERSONALLY, don't mind the enemy Tank counter-swapping me but it's when most, if not, the entire enemy team swaps to counter me. I enjoy playing Zayra a lot especially against Rein or Winston (I enjoy the challenge) but it becomes frustrating when it's the enemy Tank switches to Rein, both DPSes go Bastion and Sombra (to turret form and hack me out of cooldown, disabling me to use bubbles), and Ana to throw Sleep and Nade on cd because they can.... IN PLAT LOBBIES. Not even Diamond ....MID PLAT. They have to try 6v6 at least and let the statistics show whether the 6v6ers were right or wrong. I just want to enjoy this game again. I'm now a 6v6-believer.

6v6 wasn't perfect but what it did do was allow some pressure to be taken off of you because the enemy had to worry about another tank. Also in general tanks were weaker meaning even in the tank v tank you could outplay your counter. Like a dva could bait a zarya bubble she only had 1 personal and then reengage with micro missles and actually win the dual

I've played since beta so your more "fresh" perspective is interesting. I think it's more about how they've just constantly buffed tanks and healers to the point where the only way to secure kills readily is through CC/one-shots. Before, in OW1, everything was killable just through sheer damage, so it wasn't necessary to even have CC on your team a lot of the time. This allowed people to play more of they wanted to play, and didn't feel as forced to play what was optimal. An example would be how you could play Genji into Winston in OW1. It wasn't easy but it felt damn good to outplay that Winston, or you could avoid him and counter-dive the enemy team. You had more options because everything was weaker.
