INSANE 72v Sur Ron ebike Top Speed!

See what happened on my 72v surron top speed runs, and 👀 my electric bike upgrades listed below... Until now, I've been afraid of what might happen when taking this electric bike up to top speed. There's a long list of reasons you should never go this fast on a sur ron x electric bike, but some of my top concerns are speed wobbles that could through the bike out of balance and crash, burning up the sur ron motor due to sending too much power from the chi battery upgrade, or frying my bac4000 controller for my surron. Enjoy the video!

    The battery voltage always go down when keeping the throttle to the max. The battery voltage plus the amps determines the watts. For exemple: 81v x 141 amps = 11421w. 72v x 141amps= 10152w.

    When the "slip" between magnets and stators drops at high rpm's the motor stops drawing as many amps. It will reach 11844w if you give it full juice at full stop

    First vid so I’m not sure if you’ve ever rode motorcycles before, but in case you haven’t, the e-bike most likely felt very stable at higher speeds as is found when riding a motorcycle; the higher the RPMs on a motorcycle, you’ll find that more stability is produced given the physics associated, which makes the motorcycle want to go upright naturally. Fun fact, whenever you’re leaning into a corner, your rpm’s will go up about 2,000 on average with the exact same throttle input. Could be the same concept here given the mechanics of the e-bike itself. It’s a good thing to know, as you might find yourself understanding how your bike behaves mid corner or at certain speeds!

    Turn the phase amps down and field weakening up! You can get higher speeds without as much motor heat this way. Yes it will probably take longer to reach top speed but your motor will run cooler. Phase amps give you acceleration and torque. Field weakening increases your theoretical voltage by weakening the magnetic field. You can reach higher top speeds because its doing some magic science stuff that I dont fully understand to get you more voltage than you actually have. Im still learning.

    @@JuicedJoyrides Keep an eye on your motor temps. Field weakening will increase your motor temps but there should be a sweet spot. 100% field weakening, lower phase amps to 300ish, lower power from 12,000 to 8000 and tweak up from there and you should find a sweet spot where you can cruise at a high speed without overheating. Higher gearing would help big time here. I have a 40 tooth sprocket coming my way. Id love a 22 tooth or something crazy small so we could cruise at 50mph at low wattage but then you lose tons of torque.

  • @beatmasterbassboosts
    @beatmasterbassboosts4 ай бұрын

    The motor's RPM can decrease current loaded to it because of impedance rise, which in turn can limit top speed. In this case changing the gear ratio will get you higher speeds since the motor will have to rotate less and be able to receive more current, but will cost you acceleration.

    I think you are seeing the max amperage output of the pack. A dual pack would lessen the sag. You are running a stock motor? When checking chain tension, remove the shock and cycle the suspension all of the way up and down while feeling how tight then chain is. Best way to ruin a chain, running it tight. Stick with chain lube.

    We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. kzread.infoUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!

    With the upgraded 72 V 38ah battery, I get 2700 W hours of energy, which, for the way I ride I can be out cruising for 3 to 4 hours and come home with at least 30% left in the tank. for me, this battery has been excellent so far, however, I have to admit, I would not mind having a battery probably 50% larger. The downside is that adds even more weight.

My bike has a 37 tooth rear sprocket but still lifts the front wheel up even at 60mph! so I have the best of both worlds 0-60mph should be in the 3s!! I am taking it to a dyno soon and testing it with a draggy to see accurate 0-60mph 0-40 0-30 ex. You should do the same.

    How much does one of these cost? Why not just get a real motorcycle? I'm just thinking, aren't these like $10k? You could get a liter bike (1000cc) for less than that and beat most fast cars on the road today. If these were more affordable I'd be all over it...

    Death trap, weight to power ratio not safe for top speed

  • @JuicedJoyrides

    @JuicedJoyrides

    Жыл бұрын

    I agree, riding these things faster than 40 mph is kind of a death trap. All the fun is to be had cruising at 15 to 35 in my opinion and using the torque to pop the front wheel off the ground and have fun. The only reason I make top speed videos like this is because for some reason, this is what everybody wants to see, top, speed, top speed, the truth is people who ride these things know top speed is really irrelevant.
