Thank you for your interest in our research. Here is an update from Professor Trevor Sherwin: "The research is ongoing and making progress with promising results but progression to clinical trials is necessarily going to be cautious and that normally means slower than possible patients would like. It is impossible to put a date on trials at the present."

This sounds to good to be true. I suffer from Keratoconus myself. So for me this is big. I really hope this goes well and it comes to Denmark :) Good luck to you guys!

Any 2023 updates???! And any human clinical trials or do you have a funding issue or a lack of staff/manpower or need FDA approval or something? You can experiment on removed keratoconic grafts from corneal transplants obviously instead of only researching and testing on animals only. People like us who actually suffer from moderate to severe or advanced keratoconus or even those who are mild/in early stages still need a cure for ASAP please. Especially those with high order aberrations or extreme distortion and blurriness in vision. It's been 7 years already since you uploaded this video and important information. Regards.

Do you guys have a link so that I might follow the progress of your research? I am very interested as my daughter was born with aniridia and we have recently been told her corneas cannot self heal and currently there is no treatment.

Any updates on this university of Auckland?

I live in America so I don't have health insurance. Do you have any suggestions for a safe way to do a corneal debridement on oneself in order to scrape away cloudy dystrophy regions and possibly even scarred areas? I'm thinking of inebriating myself with whiskey and then centering my eye right down onto the rim of the bottle, looking down into it, then turning the bottle upside down as I lay my head back onto a pillow, holding the bottle in place to saturate the cornea with the alcohol. I might give that about 30 minutes and then use a credit card or a dull knife to scrape the top layer of cells away. I can't afford medication here in the states so I would also have to order some steroid drops from India and administer those for a week, right? Here goes...

Can someone from Prof. Sherwin's team please comment on the sheep trial results? It's the middle of 2017 and some preliminary results must be available. Are they encouraging? A lot of us, keratoconus patients have been holding our breath... Thank you in advance!

Is there any news? God; let this be a success!!

I'm very wary of steroids (even in low doses); they've made me dependent for my eczema, astma, etc.;; and potentially have increased my eyeball pressure and thus added to keratoconus. But, if this works- and God I hope it does- I might consider it. I regret rubbing my eyes so much every day.

If any of these researchers had keratconus themselves this research would be done much quicker we still have not heard anything from this experiment is this false hope again for all of us sufferers im sure if there was a donation page for research to a cure the millions of keretaconus sufferers around the world would donate instantly im sure like myself i would do anything to cure this evil disease

It is very likely that the root cause of this 'disease' is our eye rubbing. I take it you've got allergies too, which made you rub your eyes so much?
