@JimsyFlimsy

That's not what jury nullification means. Jury nullification is when the jury can acquit an objectively guilty person of the crimes in question, regardless of the weight of the evidence. Also known as "consciencious acquittal", the jury has the right to decide if a clearly guilty defendant can walk free, knowing full well they committed the crime, whether for personal beliefs of unfair laws or perceived oppression. In this case, the jury continued to review the evidence per the (assumed) instruction of the judge and found error in their own judgement. They didn't change their verdict because they wanted a technically guilty man to walk free, but because the man was _actually_ innocent based on the presented evidence.

I like that they fully acknowledge that Highland is in Texas now in this new revival, while in the original 90s series the location was just rural-ish community USA, although it was hinted to still be in West Texas or New Mexico. I could seriously watch a season of Beevis and Butthead as inspired by Colombo, where they go around solving crimes by pointing out things that have nothing to do with the crime, but having people solve the crime themselves and think Beevis and Butthead are geniuses.
Butthead just saved a man from going to jail for a crime he did not commit.
