Beta can engine with innertube diaphragm. Coils are from washing machine timer motors.

Very cool! Simple, but very good. For the future I also intend to make a generator similar to yours. I like the way builds its engines.

I like the way you achieved a beta configuration by using a fishing line to drive the displacer. Simple and effective. I guess you are limited to less than one g acceleration on the displacer. Nice work on the generator too.

That design has potential. I would think the innertube rubber would hold up well. I like your generator design, also.

Yeah, you can never get these engines to run very fast, but it's simple and quick to make. The main reason I use the nylon line on the cans is that it's a bit leaky, this stops the cans from imploding if they're cooled too fast.

The alternator makes AC, but it's rectified with a bridge rectifier.
