This makes me happy. Pro media designers are using opensource software on top of opensource OS to make cool, professional-looking, graphic things.

I've been trying. Thank you!
You spelled "Vector" wrongly but never mind you'll find out eventually. But I'm still very impressed, Nick! Your intro is not that long, it's very short which is a good thing. The pencil looked difficult to do but after watching the whole video, it's actually quite simple. And you added an outro just like I suggested. Maybe other people suggested it too I guess. I suggest putting an linked annotation around the 2 "recent videos" in your outro. You can resize the annotation. This is because people can just click on the linked annotation and they go to the exact video you put in your outro. Thank you Nick for all your great videos!

Thanks for pointing out the misspelling. It's been corrected. And thanks for your suggestions about adding an outro as well. I was always against using intros because I view them as a waste of the viewer's time, but I also think they add an element of professionalism and enhance the overall production value of the video, so as long as it's not obnoxiously long, I think it's alright. I went to add annotations to the end card video clips but for some reason it nearly crashes my browser and it became futile so I just said forget it for now. I'll try again next time.

Nice video! Will you do an overview/explaination-video on the snapping mechanics? That would be fantastic!

amazing art :D
Hi Nick, thanks. Intro and ending is very good. I like it. I would recommend to make a feed out with the music at the end. So it isn´t stopping like a "break" and ends smoothly.

Great tutorial man, .. most of your tutorials are excellent, .. I found out the other day one excellent tip on extensions - interpolate,..so play a little bit with that, if you didn't already,...:) What i want to ask you is,...how do you export the images , files, etc. for the web,..? There is a little explanation about that in your videos..or how do you export the best way in general,..can you do a video for exporting,...? But particularly i am interested on the first subject about the web,..for example,..there are pictures who look great when i upload them using Inkscape, and there are others who look like crap,..especially on facebook it is chewing them,..i've tried all sorts of ways exporting,..changing the dpi,..making the width 2048 etc. etc. ..Lets say about this photo,..i've done it, and upload it on fb,.and its looking disaster...and on my computer its crystal clear,..on the other hand there are a lot of others smaller then this that look great when i upload them,..i am familiar with the problem with red color also etc.etc. ..Maybe Illustrator has better options for exporting or i don't know,..but i really like Inkscape,..like you i've started on Inkscape and don't wanna change it...any suggestions...??? How to solve this issue,..??? Thank you...Greetings..!!!
When I do the first part (intersections of the circles) I have really bad lines/seams between each piece. I've tried everything and they are still there. Any ideas?
Nick, can you make Illustrator-style *Blends* in Inkscaspe? I know it has a Gradient Mesh tool, which I guess might work...
Can you make a 'atomic' logo video in the same design you did with the brain vector? Would be awesome!
@Nick Saporito GOAT
thanks Nick. For once you left some shapes overlapping (e.g. top of pencil quadrants and coloured lead quadrants.) Do overlapping shapes present any problems when rendering in other software (like export to svg and then use in html), or is it ok to do this? Are there any 'best practice' guidelines on this?
@LogosByNick

I don't see why that would cause a problem. It should be alright. The only potential problem would be aliasing, which is something I'll have to address in a video at some point.
Terima kasih
how to get that UI? also does Inkascape has something similar as Illustrator Shape builder tool? Very efficient and fun to use tool that i cant leave behind.
@LogosByNick

Nah there's nothing like that in Inkscape unfortunately. My best advice would be to learn the keyboard shortcuts for the path functions. Although it won't be quite as efficient as using the shape builder tool, it'll make your work much for efficient. I've written an article about setting up Inkscape with the UI I have here: blog.logosbynick.com/design/how-to-make-inkscape-go-dark/
but i have a doubt it is that the lead on the tip of the pencil is gray but on the top it is green blue red orange
How much do you charge for logo?
when I center the black and blue object with the green circle horizontal and vertical, the green circle moves and not the black and blue object. What do I do wrong?
@LogosByNick

In the align & distribute menu, do you have "last selected" chosen? And if so, are you selecting the black/blue object first?

This is not built on Adobe Illustrator?

Nope, I use Inkscape. It's a free alternative to Illustrator.
I realise how anal this is but in the actual tutorial, the lighting for the four wood edges between the colored segments aren't all darkened the way they are in the original. I thought you were going to make edges from Orange to red and green to blue darker and the edges red to blue and orange to green lighter, giving the impression of angle to the light. I think that for what the tutorial gives there's no angle a single point light could give that lighting result. Which kind of broke my brain for a second while I kept rotating my phone trying to find an angle that worked haha

cool. also I was trying to crop an Image the other day. I clipped it into the shape of a hollow circle and then tried to cut a section out, making it look something like a C. However the second time I clipped it, to take out that section, it didn't work. Do you know why it does this or how I could do it?
