The first two and a half minutes of this video was the best part of the entire video. OK, I've only watched the first 2.5 mins, but it was worth stopping just to comment at this point. I am just starting. I probably couldn't have started at a better time because of the new tools and enhancements. However, Inkscape (using v1.2) hasn't caught up with the latest macOS and there are some things that don't work as expected and it crashes frequently. I can work around some of these issues and I know that will get fixed, so I'm remaining patiently optimistic. Unfortunately, in some cases I'm relegated to only watch, rather than follow along. Nonetheless, to hear you explain and demonstrate a basic concept and then explain why it doesn't work, how you found yourself at this point in your early adoption of the app, how you eventually made the connection and explain how to make it work correctly... yes! ... that is why I enjoy watching your vids. I appreciate how you teach and share. Thanks for the vids!!

Thanks so much! I feel your pain on the crashes too. I like to experiment and often find myself in the "Inkscape is not responding" waiting game. Then crash.

M/S IronEcho Design, I have been following your work on the Tube from across the Black Waters and I am your Fan and AC too. I appreciate your concern for the beginners leaving the software learning halfway. I consider you as the better one amongst the You Tube teachers for your easy and comfortable pace of delivering the tutorials. However there is a scope for improvement as minor things missing imparting, create major head ack for the ab-initio and others levels of learners too. While explaining the power of unsung hero the tools, it looks as if squares are dispersing and reshuffling by magic and not with the help of any mouse key. Moreover the text object on the rectangle whether it was an image or the Text put to rectangle path object. Never mind my suggestions, I had been a programming language teacher for 40 years in International Institutions and retired from active work 5 years ago. I am an elder so don't mind my observations/suggestions.

I think that this is not a hack but the intended feature . It says there under pattern fill tool to use node tool to do this. I think that because you have so many images stacked onto the canvas, that you have to zoom out really far to see the node tool. Also ,once you select object to pattern ,the division will then work on the original object so theres no need to create, scale a new object etc..But still an awesome tutorial
