Definitely!

I would love if Gimp, Scribus, Krita, and Inkscape worked together on a pixel/vector/publishing backend with respective Qt and GTK frontends. Basically just copy Affinity with icons representing the different workspaces.

Inkscape 1.3 is out! Let's take a look at the biggest updates! (P.S. For those of you who are enrolled in my Inkscape Deep Dive course, I will be adding 1.3 updates to the course very soon!)

I used InkScape on my Windows Vista laptop. It is no longer available to me. Is there a version of InkScape for Android? I am running a Samsung tablet now. I have been using Pen Tool SVG for the last several months. I want better.

Great video! And your audio quality is improving. Much easier to understand than some older videos I've seen.

The shape builder tool is great, but it adds many nodes to certain curves.

What on earth. last time i used inkscape on linux that was 0.8 version or something. Never touch that thing again. Now v1.3 what a massive change to this lovely piece of app. Definitely gonna check it out. Phenomenal job by the inkscape team and the contributors. Bravo.

Oh by the way I am new to the channel, I am learning Inkscape I like your designs I always wanted to be able to design my own logo which I have but is very simple. I need a new logo so that's why I am here.

That Shape Builder tool is such a MASSIVE workflow improvement. Path effects are tricky.

I love the new features. My favorite feature is "Shape Builder Tool" I am using Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS. CTRL + ALT + T and CTRL + ALT + D shortcut not working. :)

On MAC - and these shortcuts don't work for me either.

it is perfect!! Gongratulation to the Inkscape team!! In windows all these about shape builder tool doesn't work with circles or ellipses

Hey, sorry about the late reply. In order to get the shape builder tool to work correctly on a circle/ellipse, you first have to turn the circle into a path, then go to the Node Tool, select all of the circle's nodes, and click the "Make selected nodes symmetric" button in the controls bar. I'll make a video about it soon.

Still an amazing tool. I wish they had a iPad version 😢

can you do in depth tutorial on the objects you duplicated and made the go in a circle with start and rectangle

My Ctrl +Alt+ T or D ( Repeat & DuplicateTransforms)not working in Inkscape 1.3 .2 on Windows 10 Dell Laptop. I there a way around???

Do you mean select the individual letters? If so, after doing Object to Path, you can do Split Path. That should separate them.

I do like Inkscape, but using it for a bit I have already been able to make it crash multiple times. It does seem to have some stability issues (I do run windows 10, would that matter?)

I've been getting some crashes as well. It's pretty common that a new major Inkscape release contains a few bugs. They usually put out an update within the first couple months that fixes most of them.

Essa versão tem um bug que quando se converte o texto em caminho não tem como desagrupar o texto pra manipular cada letra.

In 1.3, it now ungroups the letters and combines them into a single path. To separate the letters, you can use either the Split Path or the Break Apart path operation.

I wasn't aware of this at the time, but in order to be able to use the Corners LPE on a shape created with any of the shape tools, you first have to turn it into a path by selecting it and going to Path -> Object to Path. If you then add the Corners LPE to it, it should let you round multiple corners at once.

Thanks for the great tutorials. I've been using inkscape, previous version to 1.3. I wonder if I should just install 1.3 on the top of the previous version. Or uninstall the previous version and install the 1.3 version as it is? Thanks for your comments on this issue.

I've been using multiple versions on the same computer for a while now with no problems. I just use the compressed 7z format from the Windows 64-bit download page, which lets me run newer versions directly from the folder without installing them.

How is it that inkscape gets better and better and Gimp remains absolute trash with a stupid UI that took basically a decade to convert to GTK3 (already outdated) and still sucks.
