Your point towards the end about how important it is to complete full compositions is really good advice for the beginning of a new summer, when finding self-motivation can sometimes pose a bit of a problem. Great insights as always!

your channel and these demonstrations have been a great joy and inspiration for me. especially these tutorials on drawing in isometric perspective have motivated me to draw maps for my kids and to create a little board game for them. I am struggling with the terrain in isometric perspective. I learned some things by watching you, but slopes, rocky hillsides sloping away from the viewer I don't quite get. e.g. a naturally elevated structure like a citadel on a rock in a village. maybe it's of interest to highlight this in a video. anyways your approach is always encouraging to me!

It’s hilarious how useful this information is to me, was trying to figure out a good way to draw a snow on my map and you upload this while I was eating breakfast before I got to work on it. One of my favorite channels the algorithm led me towards, please make more of the content it’s really helped me get excited to draw again. Even if mapmaking isn’t my priority it’s a fun thing to do for my campaigns.

Awesome, you should make more videos like this! Both the drawing tricks and the commentary here are top notch teaching wisdom pepitas! One other thing that I noted about the "final boss" you mention is that it's always better if I go for drawing things that I really like and consider "mine", instead of making supposedly "standard" stuff just to practice.

I find deserts in particular quite difficult to draw on maps, just simple 2d maps with very plain details. They keep looking like hills so I appreciate your work here, those little lines inside the dunes seem to be what I was missing but even so I'd love to see more of them from a perspective that is like hundreds of miles above the landscape. (I'm thinking of like the big continent maps like the one on the "Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide") Arid areas as well are difficult for me, no life seems to exist in them and there's no reason people would want to live in those places aside from maybe nomads so it's hard to think of things to fill them. But I also don't want to leave blank spaces on the map.
