Injured Fawn Rescued - Her Story
Injured and abandon by her mother, this fawn was rescued and is now on the way to recovery. She would not have made it her first day with her injuries. Apparently, the mother abandon her to fend for herself after seeing what had happened, as there may have been a healthy twin to take care of.

@@ssquared2321 Yes, we were and still are heartbroken about it. It was very sudden. As my son has posted, we have since gotten a pet goat, he is a ton of fun, but can be a trouble maker too.

Oh that poor baby. Normally you don't approach or interact with a fawn that young, but there are signs to watch for that mean the little thing is in trouble and you _should_ intervene and this little one was showing MOST of them. You did the right thing helping her. For anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation, remember not to feed them until you get advice from your local wildlife people. Fawns have REALLY sensitive stomachs and can get sick really really easily. Giving them the wrong milk or even water might hurt more than it helps.

You're exactly right! A few weeks ago I saw a video of a man & woman bottle feeding a cute little fawn. I understand they had good intentions but... Unfortunately they didn't know NOT to give it Cows milk & that's what they were feeding it. I thought the poor little fawn was going to die. Right after this scene they spoke with a Rehaber who thankfully came and picked up the fawn. The poor little fawn was convulsing. I mean it looked like it was going through an epileptic shock. It couldn't keep itself upright, it was tilting over. I think its beautiful when someone tries to help an animal but none of us should be feeding any animal unless we know for certain what's safe for them to consume. 🌝

@@User-blu-7999 Aww, poor thing and they must have felt horrible. Baby deer have very sensitive tummies apparently. I'm glad he got help.

Yes, I have been on TGS quite a bit the past couple of days asking a bunch of questions, being annoying. lol We miss this guy an awful lot. Things were going so well for him, then just sudden. We have always been animal people, I think a Nigerian (or more) would be a great fit.

Mommy deer (doe left the fawn because predators would had heard that wheezing and smelled it wouldn’t had lasted 2 months if that.
