Tony Palo from Injector Dynamics runs us through some of the important considerations that go into motorsport specific injector manufacturing. We discuss injector characterization & linearisation and what some of the considerations are to make sure a large injector like the new ID1700x is able to have a large flow but also give fine control to open under lower voltages and pressures at cranking and idle.
Also touched on is the X series ability to run all known automotive fuels due to a focus on corrosion resistance and Tony also tells us the difference between the ID1000 and the ID1050x in order to help you understand why you might make the upgrade.

    I find that the people you interview are actually taken aback by your knowledge!!! It's quite funny.... and very very very very rare!!! I know engines..... not because it's my job but because I love how they work!!! And..... you haven't yet said something that I can disagree with!!! Well done mate!!!     Wow never knew tony was the owner on ID injectors also. Nice interview, I remember when you could FINALLY get 1000cc injecotrs in high impedance back in the day and it was such a game changer for people seeking big power. Again, nice interview, Tony is a legend in the import scene.

    injector dynamics is extremely precise in their design. I was an RC fan for years until i came across ID. this dude speaking i think has a pretty quick GTR, a great example of potential

    @@davidcathro3510 Tony was involved with racing Hondas before NHRA dropped the series and the bottom fell out of sport compact/import drag racing.

    Cheers Joey! We have done an intro to DI, but it's not prevalent enough in the aftermarket yet to justify the investment to cover it further....yet.     ive manage to get 13.5 afr on 1120rpm idle with e92 on some bosch 2200cc but would like those 1700x or maybe the id2000x when they come out for some 14-15afr on a lower rpm idle and better cruising afrs....

    If you wanted the same flow capability of the ID2000 in an X version, what would you go with?

    Would say....the id1300x be favorable over the older id2000s? I had my pick between the 2 and chose the id2000s and now I'm wondering if I made a mistake because newer is always better...right? Power goals 700-800hp, 4 cylinder, 2L Honda, e85.

    Hello can anyone help me in my question .... I have a mr2 turbo and recently mapped it on boastane on normal Id 1300 injectors and come into problems with fueling side of the map , just want to no if I should of got the id 1300x installed or are id 1300 and 1300x the same as people have told me thy are the same injectors can anyone tell me if there is any diffrance between the id 1300 and the id 1300x ... any help will be much appreciated... kind regards David

    ie running at idle then mass hp could you run duel injectors ie 750cc the to say 1700cc for a big hp application ?

    i got a question about ID1050 or 1000. there are different length for on the body of the injector for different brand of car But are the internal and spray pattern same with in the same Injector family ? just the body length differ ? For Eg. Can you throw a STI ID1050X (longer injecto body) into a BRZ (shorter injector body)/ with a spacer on the fuel rail?

    You're best to get in touch with ID directly, they generally have great customer support and will help you out. There are some differences with the X series that they can inform you about and you can make your decision with their help and advice - Taz.

    I want to upgrade my Fitech efi injectors they are 80 lbs I was thinking 120 would be more than enough anybody suggest a make and model that will work ?

    Troy mackeod bosch ev14 good copys or real ones are the way to go these days. most of these aftermarket injector makers like in this video are complete shit. so go with bosch ev series

    I have understood that ID2000 (and bosch 2200) do rust with E85 if not used in a couple of weeks. Maybe he means just that the x-series don't rust. kzread.info/dash/bejne/pqSs26Z-icnKkag.html

    Cheer Kevin! Almost always some tuning is required, and in the occasional instance a full retune will be required but it depends on the injections and your ECU/reflashing software - Taz.
