Injection Molding Face Shields/QiTech Rapid-Fire-Method
We started 3D-Printing face shields a while ago, but we couldn´t keep up with the demand. So we built a small injection machine to speed up production. Though we had to wait 7-8 minutes bevor we could make another face shield frame cause the plastic flakes had to heat up.
To reduce the time-per-part we invented the Rapid-Fire-Method. Using our extruder we produce hot munition for the injection and instantly process it.

I feel a "Semi-Automated Injection Molding Process" sums it up quite well The only part that isn't automated is the molten plastic from the extruder to the injection machine. GREAT workflow and build.

Thanks, will do!
I am surprised the plastic cools fast enough that it doesn't deform when you pull it out.

im betting the mold acts as a heatsink, which starts rapidly cooling the plastic as soon as its injected, the mold itself will cool in between cycles
Instead of bolts, you may use latching pin. I have a design that can be easily manufactured. Your production time will reduce to a fourth! Plz DM back to me if you need the design.
Wieso keine Schraubzwingen? Ich setze zwar den Vorteil, dass die zweiteilige Pressform so immer richtig sitzt, aber das könnte man auch anders gewährleisten.
I dont know what the proper name for that elastic is in english either. I just call it buttonhole elastic.
Awesomeness!!! Do you have a patreon account?
