Ya but buying rare animals off the dark web is fucked as is ain't it No animal lover would do that with a clear consciousness. Illegal animals are often wild caught, taken from their natural habitat and destroying the species as a whole. Reptile owners know to NEVER go for wild caught unless it's a rescue that can't be released Or even illegally bred in mills in terrible conditions. Overall just a fucked up thing to do, to support these people in what they're doing. Not as bad as buying a fucking child but yknow.

It's even more twisted than that. This is "allegedly" of course. The woman is a massive attention seeker and knew that adopting a child would get her a load of brownie points. She specifically looked up disabled children because that makes her look extra saintly. She thought the 3 year old child her and her husband adopted had a terminal brain tumour. It was very traumatic for them until they realised he just had autism and would be living with them forever. Suddenly he stopped appearing in their youtube videos and when people kept asking where he was, they said that he had severe behavioural issues (which were never seen) and they had to rehome him. Yes they rehomed their adopted son like he was a pet because he was going to live a long life and they didn't want to be responsible for him. ETA: "rehome" isn't a word I would use for a child, that's the word they used. I guess dehumanising him made it easier for them to pretend that they weren't truly shitty people.

Maybe I'm thinking of a different couple. But yeah, another youtube couple who took in a foster kid. And he was struggling with bed-wetting and food insecurity anxiety. Like those are both very common issues you would expect from a child who was recently removed from an unstable home situation. And they made the whole process seem like they were some "white savior" couple, and then the kid wasn't their perfect unrealistic expectation, and they re-homed him. Its disgusting.

2:42 For anyone wondering why Voight mentioned home invasion and attempted murder: Before this scene, the father was so angry that he confronted the couple at their home that took his son with a gun on his hand. A shot was fired. Ruzek and Antonio were first there until Burgess and Atwater arrived soon after to prevent more bloodshed.
