Ingersoll Rand Twin Stack Air Compressor Oil Change!

Here's how to change the oil in a Ingersoll Rand twin stack air compressor (P1IU-A9). Here are the tools and supplies that you need or may wish you had:
5mm Socket: amzn.to/3GnMPny *
Socket Wrench: amzn.to/2IvTgbV * (My personal favorite design, as seen in this video.)
Gallon Plus Oil Drain Pan: amzn.to/3Ko03lD *
Funnel Trio: amzn.to/3KfeN66 * (Sometimes cheaper than just one funnel.)
Funnel: amzn.to/3KFFC4T * (What I used, and included in the trio. Made in the USA as of 2020)
Air Compressor Oil: amzn.to/3nM50Ne *
If you want to get one of these air compressors for yourself, here's one place to get one: amzn.to/3Mz9HEm *
This is a portable, 4 gallon air compressor that is quiet (compared to other air compressors) and had an adjustable regulator valve that is easily accessed up front. Relatively small, but the 2 HP motor fills it quickly. I'm pretty happy with it, and the only problem I've had with it is its poor performance in cold weather, which I don't think is an issue exclusive to this model/brand/size.
Always wear safety gear when working on and using your air compressor!

Now the people know! I won't even lie, I switched to multi-viscosity engine oil in my air compressor. Starts better in the winter. Not saying anyone else should though, hahaha. I was using the Royal Purple compressor oil before.

I read something about the additive package frothing up, but I thought that was one of the things motor oil additive packages were designed to not do? I haven't done a deep dive yet.

@@CarsSimplified Yeah most of the arguments against it don't make sense to me. The only one I can actually think of actually making sense is that it's too thin when cold, but even that doesn't really make sense. Personally I'm on the compressor oil is a scam train, hahaha. :P

Yeah, I went with Royal Purple after seeing the price of the Ingersoll Rand All Weather Select (the "official" stuff). Might have paid too much still, but it at least makes the dipstick way easier to read (especially on camera).
