No wonder the rain forest is disappearing rapidly when these enormous chunks of wood are used for simple tasks like tables and other furniture. I am blaming the customers, not the craftsmen.

@@howardwmoore That's odd saws like that usually have massive torque. I know the ones I have used felt like a 3 phase cabinet saw in my hand's. I did a few post and beam in a new development and the 12' Makita was my main saw after the first month I had to start wearing a wrist brace by order of my shop stewart . I swear that thing weighed 20 pounds. I'll never do a post and beam again.

@@Adam-uo2mc I was used to a worm gear lol if I did post and beam there is a prazi attachment for 1 with the Makita that I used I had to limit the depth of cut and take two passes. That being said I do love Makita 7 1/4 inch saw for most framing tasks . If I'm gang cutting rafters I'll have drop foot saw one end of my horses and a worm gear on the other.
