every singer of today should watch this whole series. Inge Borkh is phenomenal and there are many great,great singers in this series.

This lady was 70 at that time! unbelievable! She got a really cheerful spirit and great voice. :)

Omg she looks so youthful! What a spirit, what a presence, what a beautiful lady!

The only Elektra (over 300 performances!!!)) who really understood to give the thrilling libretto of von Hofmannsthal its true value, beside her absolutely amazing vocal skills. The Grammophone recording under Böhm with Marianne Schech, Jean Madeira and the young Fischer-Dieskau is a mile-stone in the history of music recording! ..."Mein Kopf, mir fällt nichts ein - worüber freut sich das Weib?" - ...just one of a kind!

For years English speaking opera lovers have absolutely pined for translations of these legendary Everding interviews. Won't someone who's qualified to remedy this source of such a severely felt deprivation have mercy, and come to our rescue with English sub-titles?!!!

First and foremost, you need professional translators with extensive knowledge of (classical) music to translate this high level German with lots of special expressions. (At this video a translator needs to understand Vienna dialect, too). If this would be done for a single episode there is a lot of work needed to edit video and generate sub-titles. Re-posting means smallest part of work. Let me say, all in all I think it's easier to learn German than processing all Da Capo episodes. p.s.: Nevertheless I support your request.

Got reply to my request to professional translator office. They estimate including transcription (text by video) of 45 min/60 min video 1200/1600 Euro (without VAT). If somebody does apply subtitles themselves (+VocidellaLirica?) I would pay cost of one episode. - pega17pl

Yo may learn German. Why should everything be translated into English? There are so many languages. All of us could complain but we do not.

Ihre Gesangseinlage mit schiefen Tönen versehen, ist aber schon sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig! Trotzdem war sie natürlich eine imposante Sängerin.

Eine der großen Dramatischen. Im Interview eine seltsam exaltierte laute Frau, als Kabarettistin hat sie sich nicht durchgesetzt.

Interessant, ich habe sie in diesem Interview zunächst auch als "laut" und etwas aufgedreht wahrgenommen, allerdings nur im ersten Moment. Sehr schnell habe ich festgestellt, dass sie tatsächlich einfach nur 100% authentisch ist. Sehr spannend finde ich auch ihre Sprache... sauberes hochdeutsch mit der doch leichten Mannheimer Färbung, welche ich als Mannheimer sofort heraushöre, gemischt mit dem manchmal rollenden R und ganz leichter österreichischer Färbung und österreichischen Ausdrücken. Ich finde Inge Borkh sehr, sehr beeindruckend und absolut sympathisch und eben authentisch. Ich glaube am Ende ist sie tatsächlich etwas mehr Mannheimerin, als Österreicherin :-)
