WHY DID IT TAKE ME SO LONG TO COME ACROSS THIS VIDEO?! I've been looking for a fun tempest WvW staff build and this is it. I changed a couple little things around for PvE and it's very fun and oddly strong in PvE lol I made a build previously for scepter/warhorn that's extremely similar and I honestly didn't really think about the staff so I appreciate this sparked idea. I know this is definitely not meta but I have so much dang fun playing this build, or at least close to it with my little tweaks, that I've been kind of putting my main firebrand/willbender on the backburner. I am running runes of Balthazar though (because I am a filthy casual and I only have one set of ascended/exotic celestial gear so I can fit more builds into one with one gear set.) Thanks Solemn, this is a hidden gem!

It really is a hidden gem, a year later and people still haven't caught on to how OP this build is. I have a friend who consistently beats good Catalyst players using scepter/focus tempest (same build as in this video just sc/f). Staff works very well too, I think sc/f is slightly better for duels now though. Anyway yes glad you're enjoying it!

@@SolemnGW2 Yep I actually use the scepter/focus a bit more than staff with 1 or 2 changed trait lines between PvE and WvW as well. I don’t know man, there’s just something about celestial tempest that I love especially with the scepter buffs. I am absolutely enjoying it!

Love the build! Really wanna try this in normal pvp. Would this work? I was thinking of dolyak runes with wizard amulet.

Coming back to look at this, did that daredevil at 1:00 really just die to 3 stacks of burning? And from a cele build, not even a full condi build....

Dude, that squad with the three Chads was inspiring. At the same time I get confusing about the time of each "condition", it doesnt seems like a insane condi build, but it is! And is with the staff, my favorite weapon and for Tempest, my favorite spec. :) Great video! Can you share the build for test at least?

new patch gonna make this build even stronger lol considering the patchnotes, is taking lucid singularity (6s (roughly 9s with your build because lmao cele) alacrity after overload) to throw even more immob at people gonna be the play?

Maybe, I still think the aura heal trait is going to remain better after the patch. It would've been nicer if they made alacrity a minor trait but lesser boon duration imo

10 months later after your comment, I still play his tempest healer staff build. So dang fun. If the zerg isn't too serious I sometimes run my cele gear on it for some pressure and heals. Very fun in groups!

Ive been seeing tons more condi ele lately.

saw lots of builds in description, but did not see the staff tempest build. care to share?

Oooo a condi staff build. I am intrigued. Although, I think one of the requirements for this build to be annoying is for their name to be Solemn. I don't think many people besides you would be able to pull it off very effectively. I know for sure that I would feed hard if I tried it.

It is honestly difficult on YT sometimes, because the spectrum of comments you get here is so large, some people would say the exact same things but actually mean it 100% sincerely. They're not standing still, they're nearly perma-immobed A lot will die to this 1v1 but it's not as good 1v2/1v3 unless they're all bads. It is a meme build though, we never thought it would be this good, it's just slightly hilarious how many good players do end up dying to it bc it's aids
